Racing Tips & Previews – Bendigo | Sat 2nd April

Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Saturday’s Bendigo meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 9 races. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Good 4

Rail Position: True entire circuit

VARDANI made it two in a row when he took out the Stony Creek Cup last start. Drawn to get the perfect run in behind the speed and he can win again.

STEEL SKIES just hit the front a stride too early at Flemington last start and was run down final stages. If he can be held up for touch longer he can get away with this.

SCARLET TUFTY got within a length of Vardani last start. Finds similar race and would not leave him out of exotics.

GUSONIC made it two wins from his last three starts when he got the prize at Canberra last start. Looks the likely speed and the one to catch.

TINANDALI resumes from a spell. He has won fresh and although he needs some luck from wide gate would not leave out of winning chances.

STRETTO demolished them at Hillside last start when he powered away last 200m and won as he liked. Only needs to produce that form to be in mix again.

SHALAMAN started favourite here on debut but struck heavy ground and after showing speed to lead was run down by a smart one. Get chance to go one better.

OVER SHADY chased home solidly at Hillside on debut and grabbed a minor placing. Better from the race experience and expect she will be in the mix.

FIELD OF FLUTES is a debutant from the Maher/Eustace stable. Has been sound in jumpouts and would expect him to have plenty of support.

Had something each way on REMARQUE first-up in the G3 Maurice McCarten but not sure he was all that happy in the wet ground. Fitter and better on firmer surface.

ZORRO’S DREAM won with something in hand in Adelaide two starts back then backed that up just missing at Flemington last start. That form good for this.

TERBIUM has been placed in three of his last four starts. Just peaked late when looked chance last start and he can improve off that outing.

SIRILEO MISS was bit cold in the market first-up at Flemington which was surprising but she ran accordingly and never in race. She is better than that and sure to be an improver.

VESPERTINE was placed in nice race behind Annavisto at Flemington last start. That form looks god enough to be a winning chance in this.

FOXY FRIDA resumes from spell. She has been placed in two of her three first-up tries and would include in multiples.

Liked the way CAN’T GO WONG finished the race off when placed at The Valley last start. The further the better for this colt and he can get away with this.

FIGO THE GREAT won with something in hand at Stony Creek two starts back then was beaten less than a length at Kilmore last start. Drawn ideally and cannot leave out.

CELESTIAL FURY only just missed at Pakenham first-up from break. Barrier a slight concern but if he can find an early position he can make presence felt.

CARDIGAN QUEEN should have won at Flemington last stat when only got clear late. Racing in super form and can return to winners stall.

MARS MISSION is another who should have finished closer in his race last start. Just did not get run at right time at The Valley but still placed. He can sneak a minor spot.

SHARP RESPONSE was first past the post at Mornington but lost race in steward’s room. He gets chance to make amends in this.

Patrick Payne looks to have CHERRY TORTONI primed for this. Beaten less than a length at Flemington last start and although drawn wide she looks nice each way value.

RIODINI has not been enjoying the wet conditions up in Sydney. Smart move by stable bringing him down to Melbourne and he has the class to win this.

CROSSHAVEN chased home a smart one at Flemington last start. He will push on from his wide gate but if he can get a breather before the corner may take some catching.

CORNER POCKET is racing in super form. Beat a strong field at Flemington first-up then he followed up with game placing in Group 2 company last start. Goes forward and he can win this.

POLAND comes into this third-up from spell. He has just found them a bit too slick in the Oakleigh Plate and Newmarket respectively. Ready to find best form.

SECOND SLIP led them up in Adelaide first-up and fought the race out tenaciously to hold minor placing. Fitter and with advantage of apprentice claim he will be competitive for a long way.
