Horse Racing Tips – Tuesday 26th April

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews today’s Nowra meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 races. Good luck, punters!

Track: Heavy 8

Lots of intrigue in these tiny fields but I’m sticking with the popular one, SKY ACE. This 3YO is 8 starts into his career and is yet to win a race but has placed 3 times and those placings were solid efforts. One of them at the provincials. From this good gate I see him jumping cleanly and racing to an early lead. Rider Alysha Collett will slow them down in front while maintaining the lead and then as they swing, move him to the middle of the straight and keep him whacking away. He is very fit, has placed on a heavy track and although the final 200m will be a worry, looks the one from HOMBRE GRANDE. This is not a strong field.

This is an interesting contest. We have the former Godolphin mare DELICATELY engaged and she is resuming from a spell. Now with Anthony Mountney, she trialled on an extremely heavy track here a week back and got through it well, albeit held together, but won the trial and they were spread out like Brown’s cows. Obviously race conditions are different and harder but she is clearly capable of handling wet ground and she has placed several times at provincial level so the class factor isn’t a great concern either. I think she looks very well in today. There has been money for AMAZING NICCI so have her in the quinella spot.

Hard to decide here between CHOICE DEEL who is coming off poor form in better races, and TAYLOR BE SWIFT who is 2nd up from a spell after a neat 4th this grade when resuming. I went for the latter because she does have 2nd up form in the past. I do like horses dropping back in class too. So probably the best bet – quinella them.
