Horse Racing Tips – Thursday 7th April

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews today’s Wyong meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 races. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Heavy 9

Rail Position: Out 4m from 1350m to 1000m, 1m remainder

What a good punting race.  I say that because I think all 7 runners will meet with support because punters are just not sure who can win. On this heavy track, and around this tricky circuit, I believe Tom Sherry will hunt his mount SKY ACE out of the gates. Being drawn the fence, he will find the lead quite comfortably with perhaps SONIC THE HEDGEHOG the only one likely to apply mid race pressure. If Sky Ace controls the tempo, he can keep bobbing away in the mud and win. The other horse holds on for 2nd so we claim the quinella too.

I have a strong feeling this will come down to a battle between two last start maiden winners: BRILLAR and DECADENT TALE. The Godolphin runner Brillar won well when resuming at Hawkesbury being on pace all the way. Up in grade here and has the same weight. The mare, Decadent tale, led all the ay to score at Newcastle. It was a sprint journey and she had been tried as a middle distance horse last prep. Plus, she has heavy track form. I think she could be the most progressive of the pair this trip in the mud. Will be a great battle as they swing. Quinella them.

At his most recent start, this promising 3YO WAY TO THE STARS powered home late this grade under 60.5kg to grab 2nd behind his rival again CURTIS ISLAND over 1000m. Today, he meets Curtis Island 2kg better for losing by half a length and gets a further 100m to catch him with. Sounds like the pick of the pair for mine.
