Horse racing Tips – Sunday 27th March

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews the race meeting this afternoon at Wellington with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 selected races. Good luck, punters!

Interesting race here. Good solid contest between a few hardened warriors. MADISON POINT was very impressive this grade and trip last start winning easily but is up 3kg. And WINTER MOON won this grade last prep but has been sent around in the much harder Country Champs races since resuming. Last start he was in a BM 66 and home hard over 1600m to grab 3rd. I think he is ready to sit up in 4th here and finish too hard for them all now that he is 4th up. Has won on a soft track before sos probably gets through the ground too. Quinella them up.

Here’s a fun race. ANSELMO ran a string of placing before finally breaking through and winning his maiden last start. A lot of times when horses finally win, they then know what to do and go on with the job. Many people think he will here. But he gets back and Wello is not a track that suits get back horses. So I’m on BRIEF STATEMENT. She’s tough, and talented and is 2nd up in this after a really strong 2nd when resuming in a showcase Cl 1. Perfectly drawn, likes to be near the speed and she just looks the better pick of the two in this. Quinella them.

This should be a jump and go affair. This great country race gets better every year and this is a cracking field. I think the gates dictate the terms here and as such it is very hard to go past DEEP EXPECTATION. The set weights suit her a great deal, she has speed to take advantage of the barrier and has good race experience. Is still a maiden but should shed that tag today when she beats SWEET BABY BOOM home.
