Horse Racing Tips & Previews Wednesday 3rd August

Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Wednesday’s meetings, with horse racing tips and analysis for the five best bets of the day. Good luck, punters!

Jamie Kah teams up with the Peter Moody stable with what looks a nice filly in NANAGUI resuming from a spell. She made her debut in Group 3 company in the Chairman’s Stakes at Caulfield back in February and she was able to hold onto second spot behind the smart Sebonack.

She has two more starts at first prep both in Stakes class races but she had to settle for runner-up position in both starts. Comes back to maiden class after having a break and expect she will just be too good for this field and looks best of the day.

Tip: NANAGUI

ASPEN COLORADO gave them a galloping lesson when let down at Donald last start. He steps up a grade in class but comes into this at peak fitness third-up from spell.

Drawn a touch wide but expect that Ben Melham will have him back in second half before peeling wide and finishing all over them last 200m. He will win better races than this and would not be surprised to see him measure up to city class.

Tip: ASPEN COLORADO

Was on FETCH when she drifted in the betting at Doomben first-up but after sitting up on the speed she gradually wore down leader taking over final stages for gutsy win.

Found a much tougher race here last start and after racing forward in Saturday class she was found wanting over the 1200m. She gets back into midweek class and back to the 1000m looks ideal. Happy to put her back on top in this.

Tip: FETCH

Chris Waller brings the lightly race PODIUM to Queensland for the first time. He looked impressive winning his maiden at Newcastle when first-up last time in work before starting favourite in town but had excuses with poor recovery.

Has trialed well enough at Randwick before coming north and if he can find his best form fresh will take care of what looks a winnable race.

Tip: PODIUM

Thought the Best in the West was ETOMORP. He did a few things wrong in maiden company at Pinjarra Park last start but ended up demolishing a maiden field winning on raw ability.

Looking for him to taken a lot of race experience out of that win and with added confidence and natural fitness improvement he will measure up to city class and can start with a win in this.
