BRUNGLE BERTIE absolutely demolished a field at Pakenham last start winning by 11 lengths. Progressive hurdler and he can win this.
PUEBLO took over with a couple of hurdles to go and got his hurdle maiden out of the way at Pakenham last start. Now he has won he can go on with it.
BLANDFORD LAD won his hurdle maiden with something in hand two starts back then has had a run to keep himself fit on the flat last start. He can measure up to this.
Tip: BRUNGLE BERTIE
Was impressed with the performance of HENTY winning at Kilmore last start when thrashed a maiden field. He will not mind if there is some rain about and can win this.
CHORIZAMA finished the race off strongly and won maiden on debut with something in hand. Better from the outing and he can make it two from two.
CEASAR started favourite in town last start and got the job done holding ground for gutsy win. This looks no harder and he will be in the mix again.
THE GENERAL resumes from spell. He has won two of five first-up from break and from ideal barrier should get his chance. Happy to put him on top.
MCKEEVER won two in a row earlier this prep then not beaten all that far at Stawell last start. Drawn bit wide but can sneak into a placing.
CAPRICCIO was in the market at Flemington first-up but she was poor. She is better than that and on her home track expect her to bounce back.
Tip: THE GENERAL
LOVE TAKES TIME came with an impressive finishing burst to win at Pakenham last start. If she can produce similar last 200m she can get away with this.
LA SPEZIA resumes from break. She won when fresh this track last time in work and must respect on that stat alone. She will be in finish.
PANKHURST sprinted clear and won with something in hand at Casterton when on debut and won as he liked. Comes into this fresh and that is when she may run best.
Tip: LOVE TAKES TIME
KING OF PHARAOHS relished the heavy track and won as he liked at Bendigo first-up. If he gets similar conditions he can win again.
POWER OF SONG won her maiden by 6 lengths at Swan Hill two starts back then backed that up with last start placing at Ballarat. Drawn ideally and racing well enough to figure again.
WITSABOUTHIM is the one to watch. Former Kiwi who has not found form yet in Australia but sure to be better second-up and must consider.
Tip: KING OF PHARAOHS
WORSFOLD started odds on at Pakenham first-up and looked home at 100m but fitness told late and he was nabbed on line. Fitter and can go one better.
RUDHYAR arrived a stride too late at Morphettville first-up. Model of consistency and with advantage of that run under his girth he is another that can win.
SARODEC was doing best work final stages at Hillside first-up. As with top two he will strip fitter and will be right in the mix again.
VANGUARD looks a progressive jumper. Only query is will he be ready for a Grand Annual so early in jumping career but happy to put him on top.
HEBERITE was impressive over the hurdles two starts back then just missed when favourite over the bigger obstacles last start. Ready third-up and will be in finish.
BUDD FOX finished off strongly and got very close to Valac last start at Pakenham. If he produces that form in this he will go very close to winning.
TUVALU resumes from spell. He has super first-up record (3:2-1-0) and won this track when first-up last time in work. He may just be too good for these.
VASMEE won in town two starts back then started favourite at Caulfield last start and just found one better on line. He gets chance to return to winners stall.
CAMBOURNE resumes from break. Placed at Sandown when first-up last time in work and if he can produce that form will be in finish again.
GRANDSLAM gave them a galloping lesson at Caulfield last start with Jamie Kah in the saddle. She stays aboard in this and expect he will be short favourite in the cup.
WARNING won at Group 3 level two starts back at Flemington in the spring. Class runner in this field and if they have him forward enough will give this a shake.
MASERARTIE BAY won the Yarra Valley Cup two starts back then backed that up winning at Caulfield last start. Hard to knock winning form and must respect again.
NETANYAHU led them up at Hillside last start and just found one better final stages. Damien Oliver stays aboard and he can return to winners stall.
LAUNCH PAD resumes from spell. Did not run a bad race last time in work and although drawn out in the car park would not leave out of chances.
BELLMAN was dominant winning his maiden on debut then he was brave when placed here last start. Looks promising and no reason he cannot win.
