Horse Racing Tips & Previews – Flemington | Sat 19th March

Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Saturday’s Flemington meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 9 races. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Good 4

Rail Position: Out 8m entire circuit

FRENCH MOON is racing in career best form. Made it three wins from his last four starts at The Valley last start and he can go on with it here.

THROUGH IRISH EYES comes into this ready to find best form third-up from spell. Two runs in Sydney on wet ground and did not flatter. Looking for him to improve.

OH SO FAR won with something in hand at Hillside two starts back then should have won again last start when struck late trouble. Would not leave her out of winning chances.

LOMBARDO resumes from spell. Took on the G1 Manikato before break but had no luck when always wide at The Valley. Won two of three fresh and may just be too good for these.

SWORD OF MERCY comes into this third-up from a spell. She has been super in both runs back and beaten less than a length behind Malkovich last start. On home track looks top chance.

MISS ALBANIA is the big query resuming from a spell. She was good enough to take on Group company before break. Placed in both runs fresh and she will be a factor.

KING OF HASTINGS is a quality gelding but just not living up to his potential. He has the ability to be right in this and cannot leave out.

Hard to see them beating YONCE. She is unbeaten in all five starts and she just seems to be getting better every time she steps out. Drawn ideally and can win.

EL PATRONESS comes into this ready third-up from spell. Placed in both runs at Caulfield and she cannot be left out of winning chances.

GROOVY KINDA LOVE chased home Yonce here two starts back then again placed last start. She deserves a win and gets her chance.

POUNDING started favourite at Hillside last start and he finished too well final stages for last stride win. Drawn ideally and he can win again.

DAILY BUGLE looked in need of the run here first-up when just one paced last 200m. Sure to strip fitter and expect he will be an improver.

UMGAWA was competitive in the Group 3 C.S.Hayes last start. Gets back in winnable race and out to the mile with Damien Oliver aboard looks a good combination.

TEEWATERS resumes from spell. Last time he was at Flemington he was placed in a G1 Victoria Derby. Will want further but talented enough to run a cheeky race fresh.

BELTORO started favourite at Bendigo last start and he was strong to the line winning as he liked. Going to need some luck from horror barrier but if he can get some cover he looks each way value.

PRINCE OF HELENA ran on strongly to just miss at Ballarat first-up. He will be better from the outing but another who has had no luck with the barrier draw.

GRACIAS AMIGO has won two of his last three starts. Makes own luck going forward and he will make his presence felt last 200m and can win again.

I’m going to stick with ZAAKI. Thought his run in the Blamey was fantastic giving winner 6kgs. He has had no luck with the barrier draw but Jamie Kah aboard will negate that.

TOFANE won at Group 1 level first-up then she fought hard when placed in the Futurity. Query maybe a really tough mile but too much class to leave out.

I’M THUNDERSTRUCK looks primed coming to Flemington third-up from spell. Two runs back over the 1400m have been sound and out to the mile on the bigger track could be winning formula.

BERMADEZ made it four from four first-up when he finished too well for big win here last start. Strips fitter and no reason he will not make it two in a row.

GENTLEMAN ROY is racing in super form this prep. Chased home in-form galloper here last start after winning by a space at previous start. Must include again.

DON’T DOUBT DORY resumes from a spell. He has a super first-up record (4:3-0-1) and would not leave him out of exotics.

DESERT ICON won as he liked at Caulfield two starts back then he just may have found the front a touch early last start and was overran. If he can get a softer run for longer he can win again.

EMISSARY was enormous when placed in the G2 Peter Young first-up behind Cascadian. Sure to be better from the outing and he can get away with this.

DEFIBRILLATE charged from the back for soft win fresh at Caulfield. Loves Flemington and he will be steaming home final stages.

PAPERBOY finished too well to win at Caulfield two starts back then he just missed in a driving finish last start. Racing in super form and can win this.

ROCKET TIGER is the query runner of the entire program. He has not raced since the Golden Slipper last season. Recent trial was strong and he could be the surprise.

ZAC DE BOSS jumped to the front and gave nothing else a chance at Hillside last start. If they leave him alone in this he can win again.
