Horse Racing Tips & Previews – Flemington | Sat 19th Feb

Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Saturday’s Flemington meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 9 races. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Good 4

Rail Position: True entire circuit

TIGERTIGER added the Listed Bagot Handicap to his winning list here last start. Dominant winning recent trial to keep in fresh for this and happy to stick with him to go on his winning ways.

CRYSTAL PEGASUS was sent out favourite at Rosehill last start and he was strong at the end of his race getting up to win. This no harder and he can win again.

PLAYOFFS finished too well and got the prize at Caulfield last start. Drawn to get the ideal run in behind the speed and he will be right in the mix.

GUIZOT has been a model of consistency with three sound placings leading into this. Looks close to a win and would not leave out of exotics.

TUVALU is an exciting up and coming gelding. Resumes with the easiest of wins at Warrnambool when long odds on and he will win better races than this.

GENTLEMAN ROY is rock hard fit and been flying this time in with three wins from four starts this campaign. No reason he cannot go on with it here.

Liked the sharp turn-of-hoof that ZOLTAN showed when the gap opened at The Valley last start. If he finds similar finish he will give this a shake.

HIGH ‘N’ DRY has won two of last three in this class and beaten less 2 lengths in other start on this track. Cannot leave him out of major chances.

YONCE showed her fighting qualities at Caulfield last start when she fought tenaciously to get the major prize. Will make own luck up front and she can keep her unbeaten record in-tact.

AMERICAN ANGEL has found winning form. Good tough Caulfield winner two starts back then dominant last start at The Valley. He can win again.

CENTIMENTAL demolished them at Rosehill last start. The Waller camp go with an apprentice claim and she looks well in at the weights. A must for exotics.

MODERN MILLIE improved coming from the back when placed at The Valley last start. Import who looks to be finding her hooves in Australia and she will be in mix.

Interesting to see James McDonald jump aboard ZENNZELLA. She has looked smart in her jumpouts and if any money for her would follow.

LATVIAN comes into this on debut off the back of a solid Cranbourne trial placing. Stable have good record with juveniles and he maybe one at odds for each way players.

STUPENDO has the advantage of winning down the Flemington straight and that is always an advantage. He was good in two Gold Coast efforts and would not dismiss.

BARB RAIDER is a class filly resuming from a spell. She comes into this off a strong trial win which will have her ready for this and she can win fresh.

MINOUCHE still looks to be learning the caper but despite being little green she got the job done at Caulfield. Bigger track at Flemington should be ideal for her.

CARDIGAN QUEEN resumes with a win at Lakeside when ran on strongly. She will give them a start but has big finish and will make presence felt late.

RIOYUKI hugged the rails and finished too well to win at The Valley last start. Only needs to hold that form to be in finish again.

CAPTIVANT was beaten less than a length in the Caulfield Guineas then stable though enough of him to take on a Cox Plate. Fitter off first-up run and happy to have something each way.

LIGHTSABER comes into this ready third-up from spell. Forget Orr Stakes run when reared at start and lost all chance. Back to own age group and will improve.

PINSTRIPED sustained a long run to get the prize at The Valley first-up from spell. He will be better from that outing and although harder can measure up.

FORGOT YOU is a promising colt resuming from a spell. He has been placed in both first-up tries and although better over further can run a cheeky race in this.

Australia’s best and arguably the world’s best sprinter in NATURE STRIP resumes from spell. Loves the Flemington straight track and he can win again.

HOME AFFAIRS resumes from spell. Demolished a Group 1 field down the Flemington straight in the Coolmore Stud Stakes in the Spring. Has weight advantage on the seasoned sprinters and will be in finish.

Probably the most underrated sprinter in the country is EDUARDO and he should not be as his record is outstanding. Is creating a great rivalry with Nature Strip and it should continue here.

SWATS THAT resumes from spell. She has been placed in three of four first-up tries and she could be one at big odds for first four players.

MR BRIGHTSIDE raced in super form last time in work with a string of wins. That was only his second preparation and expect he will have matured again for this campaign. He goes on top.

ELEPHANT is such a brave Kiwi gelding. Won the Group 3 Sandown Stakes in a canter last prep. He is unbeaten fresh (3:3-0-0) and must include on that stat alone.

JUNIPAL only had the one run last prep and that was in G1 George Ryder and he went straight to paddock. Solid in recent trial and he has been placed three of four first-up.

KING MAGNUS resumes from spell. He was competitive in some top class races last time in work. Beaten less than a length in G1 Cantala here two back before Cranbourne Cup win. Must respect.

THE GARDEN was well backed at Caulfield first-up and only race fitness that cost him when claimed final stages. Strips fitter and gets chance to go one better.

PIONEER RIVER loves the Flemington straight. Won two in a row here then went to The Valley and was sound. Back to this track could be winning move.

ROSE QUARTZ was strong winning here two starts back then she arguably should have won at Caulfield last start when held up the entire straight. She gets her chance.
