Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Saturday’s Caulfield meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 9 races. Good luck, punters!
Track Condition: Good 4
Rail Position: Out 3m entire circuit
JAMARRA looks ready to win. Been placed in three out of his last four starts, most recent finished second at Hillside. This looks a nice race for him to return to winners stall.
GULF OF LION raced on the speed and at Ballarat on debut. Just peaked on his run final 100m and was overran. Better from the race experience and will be right in the mix.
PLUS FOURS caught the eye final stages when ran on from the back to place at Cranbourne on debut. He will give them a start but watch for him last 200m.
CLEMENCEAU resumes from spell. He looks promising winning all three starts last time in work and from ideal barrier draw he looks the one to beat.
SNAPPER won two in a row before taking on Group 1 company in the William Reid Stakes and finding the class a bit too hot. Gets back in right race.
YOUNG LIAM showed abundance of speed to lead at Cranbourne last start and he held them all off for gutsy all the way win. He is the one to catch.
POINT NEPEAN controlled the race from the front and demolished them at Bendigo last start. Expect he will try similar tactics in this and can win again.
THROUGH IRISH EYES battled on well enough at the one pace at Flemington last start. He is a little one paced but can run into a placing.
EUREKA STREET did all the chasing when placed behind Point Nepean at Bendigo last start. Hard to see him turning the tables but he can place again.
Tip: POINT NEPEAN
MAMOUNIA looks ready to win this campaign. Comes off last start placing in Group 3 class in Sydney and if she brings that form down south will be better than these.
THE CUNNING FOX started favourite at Bendigo last start and he finished too well for good tough win. No reason cannot go on with it here.
CELESTIAL FURY was placed fresh then only got going late last start. Comes into this ready third-up from spell and would not leave him out of multiples.
STAR OF CHAOS is the big query resuming from a spell. Won her maiden first-up when last in work and raced consistently throughout. Drawn ideally and looks hard to beat first-up.
FLYING EVELYN looked in need of the run when she battled at Flemington fresh. She was placed second-up in town last time in work and although drawn wide cannot dismiss.
HEAD FIRST arguably should have won at Hillside first-up then beaten less than a length last start. Third-up from break and ready to return to winners stall.
Tip: STAR OF CHAOS
MISS ALBANIA started favourite at Flemington first-up from spell but just peaked on her run final 100m. Sure to be better from the outing and although has horror draw can figure.
JUMP THE BROOM is unbeaten in all four starts and she measure up in better class at Mornington fresh. Fitter and no reason cannot go on her winning way.
AGREEABLE resumes from a break. She has been placed in three of her four first-up tries and expect her to produce similar run here.
Tip: MISS ALBANIA
PONDUS powered away and won with something in hand at Flemington two starts back then fought the race out strongly when placed last start. He will be in finish again.
GRANDSLAM was placed behind Pondus last start. Hard to see him turning the tables from his horror barrier but he can fill a placing again.
TEEWATERS looked like he would be better from his first-up run when made good late ground. Will get back from his wide gate but watch for him to be making good ground late.
AYRTON is a quality sprinter resuming from a spell. Unbeaten in all three first-up tries and expect from ideal barrier he will be bit too good for these.
KISSONALLFORCHEEKS was dominant winning at Flemington two starts back then did not measure up in the Doncaster last start. Back in right race.
I AM SUPERMAN has not been beaten all that far in two runs back from a spell. Comes into this ready third-up and will be chasing home hard.
Going to have something each way on ANCIENT GIRL to finish the program. Led throughout to win in Adelaide two back then forget last start when wide at The Valley. Can bounce back in this.
DOUCEUR looked unlucky not to have won at The Valley last start when held-up at vital stage. Ready third-up from spell and bigger track ideal.
GUNDEC has returned in super form. Raced on the speed before sprinting clear to win Bendigo Guineas last start. Needs luck from barrier but must consider.
Tip: ANCIENT GIRL
