Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews today’s big Scone meetings, with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 races. Good luck, punters!
Track: Soft 5
I like the look of this really consistent mare MISS KOJIKI. She just knows what to do, goes about doing it and is always in the money. Seemingly irrespective of class. Has placed at BM 66 level. Today she is competing 2nd up in a BM 58 race and has the rails draw. Sits up in about 4th to the bend and should rush home hard against these. She has raced 19 times for 2 wins and 12 placings, underlining her consistency. REDEEMING SPIRIT was handled pretty easily last start but was 2nd up and should improve a lot for this. Quinella them.
Tip: MISS KOJIKI
Interesting race here with form lines coming from various places. I’m banking on the change of stable and drop in quality for KEEP ON GOING today. Originally raced in Sth Aussie then country Victoria he finds his way up here with his 3rd trainer. Not placed in four starts to date but has early speed. Probably hits the ground running and new trainer Stephen Edwards will have him primed and ready. DRAWN TO WIN also has speed and showed that at gunnedah on debut when leading until the final 100m. Should be better for the run and they look the quinella.
Tip: KEEP ON GOING
Consistency, honesty, consistency, honesty – can’t repeat it enough as a mantra for punting. Horses who just keep finding something because they want to be racehorses. In this grade Kris Lees presents the filly CRISTALINO here and she looks perfectly placed. Her recent form is consistent, placing 4 times in a row -twice in shorter maidens then past two in these Plate races, latest when running on from 10th for home over 2050m at Gunnedah to grab 3rd. Drops back from this gate to be about 8th for home here and the long home straight will suit a great deal.
