Horse Racing Tips -Monday 18th July

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews today’s big Goulburn and Wellington  meetings, with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 races. Good luck, punters!

Track: Heavy 8 (Goulburn), Soft 6 (Wellington)

I do like the look of this contest. BRYNNER stormed down the middle of the track to claim a maiden this trip here last start. Harder today but is 3rd up and looks in career best form. And while I think he will do all that again,  yet he will come up a tad short. SPELLZ did much the same thing when winning his 1600m maiden here 4 starts back and his past two failures have more been because he has stepped up in trip rather than grade. Beaten out of a place past two over 2000m. Can handle the mud and better suited this journey means he wins from Brynner. Quinella them.

I do like it when Gai and Adrian send horses to Goulburn while young and raw. We have one here in the 2YO LET’S ROLL who was beaten out of a place at Muswellbrook on debut over 1000m. Sat 5th to the bend and just plodded down the running. The newness of it all the most telling factor. Should have learned from that experience and tightened up a fair bit too. This doesn’t look overly strong. Perhaps HOTSTEP who was 2nd on debut will be in the frame again. Quinella them.

Lots to like about this old boy at the top of the weights in A MAGIC ZARIZ. He is 3rd up this afternoon and Wellington will suit the way he has been pinging the lids and getting himself into races. Not placed this prep but they have been on wet tracks in city races and he was there until the final 150m. This represents quite the drop in grade for him and he is much fitter. The 3kg claim today helps a great deal also. JAILBREAK is also a city class horse and he too gets a weight allowance so must be the quinella bet.
