Horse Racing Tips – Group 1 Inglis Sires’ Stakes

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at every runner in Saturday’s Group 1  Randwick Inglis Sires’ Stakes with horse racing tips for the first four. Read on to see how he maps and assesses the race. Good luck, punters!

1. DAUMIER  (11) 1314

T: Team Freedman / J: Mark Zahra (56.5kg)

Superstar who brilliantly but narrowly won the Gr 1 Blue Diamond then ran a courageous race on the speed all the way in the Gr 1 Golden Slipper when having first start in Sydney. Better for that run and if he sits off the speed he is a major player.

2. SHALATIN (1) 52×73

T: Joe Pride / J: Nash Rawiller (56.5kg)

Maiden but a very smart maiden. Scratched from the Slipper but since won a barrier trial. Likes to settle then wind up and he gets that opportunity in this. Should dash late. Must be considered.

T: Danny O’Brien / J: Damian Lane (56.5kg)

Here’s the dark horse. After very easily winning his maiden, he came from 9th on the bend in the Victorian version of this race and flew home to win from Man In The Mirror. First look at Sydney way of going but is obviously very smart and his debut win was on a heavy track. Respect him.

T: Ciaran Maher & David Eustace/ J:  Jamie Kah (56.5kg)

Solid type shown on debut in the city then 4th in the Blue Diamond Prelude and 8th in the Gr 1 Blue Diamond. Did make ground that day. Place show.

5. MILLANE (3) 1

T: Peter Moody / J: Luke Nolan (56.5kg)

Couldn’t have been any more impressive then when on debut last start and winning a stakes race in Victoria. Up an extra 400m here but did rattle home that day. Missed a start in the Slipper so connections obviously rate him. Chance.

6. MAN IN THE MIRROR (2) 1×52

T: Annabel Neasham / J: Hugh Bowman (56.5kg)

Interesting galloper. Is very smart and won in town at Warwick Farm before stepping up to stakes company and a battling 5th in the Gr 2 Skyline. Headed to Melbourne and ran a cracking race 2nd up from a spell when 2nd in the Sires’ down there. Super fit now and will be right in this.

7. MAGIC (8) 23

T: Team Hawkes / J: Willy Pike (56.5kg)

Another maiden but another very smart one. Probably wants the track as dry as possible to show his best but if he gets that, he can win. Placed at both starts including last start on a heavy track to Rise Of The masses in Gr 3. Super fit now.

8. WARBY (10) 2

T: Ciaron Maher & Dave Eustace / J: John Allen (56.5kg)

Is one of the horses to beat. Yet another maiden galloper but his one and only run had back me next start written all over it. He ran home from near last in the Gr 3 Black Opal to grab 2nd. The extra trip and being fitter are both in his favour here.

9. WEALTHY INVESTOR  (9) 334×7

T: Damien Lane / J: Josh Parr (56.5kg)

Has talent but not quite enough to re commend at Gr 1 level.

10. SHOWCOURT (5) 34

T: Chris Waller/ J:  James McDonald (56.5kg)

There are big wraps on this bloke but he has been beaten in both his starts to date. Admittedly both were impressive runs but may find this a bit rich.

11. BROSNAN (4) 64

T: Gerald Ryan &  Sterling Alexiou / J: Tim Clark (56.5kg)

Yet another maiden with untapped talent. Rattled home from near last in the Sires’ down south when a great and close-up 4th at first start in Victoria. Back to Sydney and could dash late to sneak a place.

12. FIREBURN (6) 41111

T: Gary Portelli / J: Brenton Avdulla (54.5kg)

Is the best 2YO in the land by a big space and will prove that again here.

13. SHE’S EXTREME (12) 4217

T: Anthony Cummings / J: Tommy Berry (54.5kg)

Is one classy filly and her win at stakes level prior to her game 7th in the Gr 1 Slipper behind Fireburn, was a superb effort. Will make a good race of this.

Tips: 1. FIREBURN,  2. Let’srollthedice, 3. She’s Extreme, 4. Magic
