Horse racing tips – Friday 25th March

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews the race meeting this afternoon at Wellington and Albury with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 selected races. Good luck, punters!

Interesting race here. I know there must be a reason why an established and successful Canberra trainer would trek for hours out west on a wet day and race his untried 3YO filly on a very heavy track. To me that reason is always he believes in his horse and is looking for a price which often happens when you run your horse outside of your jurisdiction. This filly, named CARRINGTON FALLS, has had just one trial, last year and was 3rd. My sense is that she is prepped for a big run first-up and a plunge is imminent. She has drawn the rails with James Innes to ride. I’m getting on.

Here’s a fun race. On paper you just cannot justify tipping a horse who six days was thrashed by 22 lengths. But, I will and with confidence. I’m on ENTENTE here because he should lead all the way and win handsomely. He got bogged down last start and the one prior to that on a very heavy track. It took away his finishing kick. Today, he is on top of the ground on a good track and he will bowl along a length or so clear of Harmony Rose all the way and just be too slick once they turn for home. Quinella them.

This should be a jump and go affair. I can’t believe the local horse BOSS LADY ROCKS is so short in the market. Yes is fast and a winner here but is getting just 3kgs off LUNAR HERO who is a city winner. Off this gate Lunar Hero parks up on the outside of the speed and proves too tough late I think.
