Horse Racing Tips – Friday 11th March

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews the race meeting this afternoon at Goulburn with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 selected races. Good luck, punters!

Interesting race here. MURRAJONG ROAD is the odds on fav and I guess if he runs up to his very best he motors home here. But where does he get too in the run on a very heavy track. That’s my concern. He’s drawn the car park and at best I see him three-deep the whole trip. Now, he may just be good enough to sustain that but I know for a fact that ECHO SUNSHINE will bowl along unopposed in front. When a horse, especially third up is left alone they can find enormously down the running. This one has the Tulloch Lodge bone and muscle training approach behind it too so I’m tipping major upset here. Obviously, I’ll quinella both.

Here’s a cool race. SUMMERBEEL is on the crest of a winning wave and likes to lead. Probably finds the front here and will take catching. GIN MARTINI can hit the line well and has also won her past two runs but I’m on the lightly raced Chris Waller filly here called EMPRESS EL. I think from this handy draw she can sit back in about 5th spot with cover to the bend and all Kerrin McEvoy then needs do is find galloping room in the stretch. She won her maiden in NZ then came here and was a game 3rd on debut in town. Should be fitter and seems to have wheels.

There was a definite eye-catcher, apart from the winner, in the recent Provincial Qualifier at Newcastle. It was DANISH PRINCE who ran 3rd. He rallied late under Pikey and that rider makes the long trip to Goulburn to partner him again. Drawn the rails this time so gets a cushy run in behind the speed then rattles home again to win from TRAVERST.
