Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews the Goulburn meetings this afternoon, with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 selected races. Good luck, punters!
Interesting race here. I believe all of them have winning chances which will make for a good betting race. But the top weight looms largest for me. His name is DIJON and has has already been to the races twice and placed both times. Has the big weight here but the race experience is invaluable. There has been good money overnight for Gerry Harvey’s unraced giant of a filly named MIROSLAVA. And she did hit the line very hard and impressively in a recent trial when 3rd. But gee I think she is a risk here first-up. Apprentice rider, never raced, drawn deep in a very strong maiden. Happy to see her run on into a place behind Dijon. Quinella them.
Tip: DIJON @ $4.00
Here’s a fascinating race. There seems to be a bit of the ‘a sense of timing’ about this bottom weight CHARLEMAGNE. He’s a 3Yo who has taken a bit of time and maturity to work out the racing game but I think he may just have done it now. After resuming in a maiden at Canterbury and bring on pace until the final 100m, he dropped to bush grade and came with a powerful run to win his maiden over 1300m. And it does seem like he needs ground and today he is out to 1400m. Countering all that is the fact he is top sharply in class. But when a horse works out what needs to be done, they can improve very sharply. Watch market.
Tip: CHARLEMAGNE @ $3.40
I think there might be a good chance ewe can land the quinella I this. last start both FENTON and GULF OF AQABA finished alongside each other when 3rd and 4th respectively in a similar race. Fitter for that outing both should run even better. Because of the gates I’ll tip Gulf Of Aqaba to win but there will be nothing in it at the end.
