Six of Trevor Lawson’s Blackbookers to back on Saturday

Each week, pro punter Trevor Lawson – the man behind our Melbourne Ratings and Trev’s Bets memberships – posts his blackbook horses for all to see right here.

What should you do with them?

Trev gives some clues as to what he’s looking for in his blackbook comments, but if you want a really simple approach… just back them at their next start.

It might seem too obvious to be profitable, but when you have an analyst as good as Trevor, it works!

Since mid-2020, backing each horse in the blackbook at it’s next start has been very profitable, returning an amazing 29% profit-on-turnover.

So let’s see which of his blackbookers are running this week…

Saturday, April 23

12:45pm Caulfield Race 2
#11 Blistering $7 with TopSport
[Referring to both Blistering and Adele Amour] “Both sat back in a solidly run race before running on strongly in the straight. Time was much faster than the BM78 race which Paperboy won. They probably don’t have to hold their rating here to still be competitive in a race of similar class and trip next time.” Blackbook, April 9th

2:00pm Caulfield Race 4
#6 Ain’tnodeeldun $2.60 with TopSport
“Probably needed that run second-up off a long layoff. Was solid in the market. Was solid to the line. Should be ready to peak next start. 1800 – 2000m.” Blackbook, April 9th

2:20pm Randwick Race 6
#3 Quintello $2.05 with TopSport
“Super impressive resuming with a soft kill. Overall times and splits were close to those of the Listed Hareeba Stakes. Can win again next start in anything less than a Group 1.” Blackbook, March 26th

3:55pm Caulfield Race 7
#10 Typhoon Harmony $6.50 with TopSport
“Returned with a good effort. Sat back off genuine tempo, made a long run from the 600m, hit the lead in the straight before peaking late. Fitter next start.” Blackbook, March 26th

4:35pm Caulfield Race 8
#12 Adele Amour $4.60 with TopSport
[Referring to both Blistering and Adele Amour] “Both sat back in a solidly run race before running on strongly in the straight. Time was much faster than the BM78 race which Paperboy won. They probably don’t have to hold their rating here to still be competitive in a race of similar class and trip next time.” Blackbook, April 9th

4:47pm Morphettville Race 8
#6 Magic Max $8.50 with TopSport
“Pretty obvious good thing beaten, no doubt he should have won easily. Ran the second-fastest last 800 / 600 / 400 of the day being held up, before running the fastest L200 of the day when finally in the clear. Look for a jockey change next time.” Blackbook, April 9th
