Final Thoughts: Chicago Bulls are aiming to arrest their slide down the Eastern Conference standings with only a few weeks of the regular season remaining.

The 41-28 Bulls have lost six of their last eight. They led the East not all that long ago but have dropped to fifth and are now only two wins ahead of the seventh-placed Raptors. This week they have gone down to the Kings (112-103) and Jazz (125-110) on the road.

Zach LaVine scored 33 points in Salt Lake City and linchpin DeMar DeRozan had 25 points and 7 assists, but the Bulls struggled to handle an electric Donovan Mitchell and big man Rudy Gobert.

The 56-14 Phoenix Suns are steaming towards the NBA’s top seed, winning seven of nine games in March despite the ongoing absence of talisman Chris Paul. In the past five days they have racked up blowout wins over the Lakers (140-111), Pelicans (131-115) and Rockets (129-112).

Devin Booker put 36 points in Houston, while Deandre Ayton (23 pts, 11 reb), Torrey Craig (21 pts, 14 reb) and Mikal Bridges (26 pts, 5 ast, 3 stl) all had big nights.

After sitting out the Rockets game Jae Crowder (groin) is listed as questionable for the Suns, while LaVine is probable for the Bulls.

The Suns held off a fast-finishing Bulls 127-124 in Chicago last month – their fourth straight win in the rivalry – after leading by 27 points in the third quarter. Booker starred with 38 points, while Crowder (10 pts, 10 reb, 6 ast) and Paul (19 pts, 11 ast) made strong contributions for Phoenix. DeRozan and LaVine combined for 70 points in a losing effort.

The Suns are 29-8 at home this season (17-20 ATS), despite splitting their last six games at Footprint Center. The Bulls are just 16-18 on the road (14-19-1), losing five of their last six away.

The line’s not big enough to consider getting behind the out-of-sorts Bulls. The Suns are in a nice groove offensively and should get up comfortably here.
