Last meeting: February 17, 2022: 76ers 123 d Bucks 120 at Fiserv Forum

Final Thoughts: Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks both come into this barnburner with 46-28 records and a shot at the Eastern Conference’s top seed over the remaining fortnight of the regular season.

Both teams are also coming off a loss to a high-flier from the West.

The Sixers have won 12 of their last 17, but after three straight wins they went down to the Suns 114-104 on Monday (AEDT). They led at halftime before being overrun, with a powerhouse display from MVP favourite Joel Embiid (37 pts, 15 reb) to no avail. James Harden is struggling to find shooting consistency – going just 2-from-11 from the floor against Phoenix.

The Bucks have won 10 of their last 13 and put away the Bulls (126-98) and Wizards (114-102) last week. But they were pumped 127-102 by the Grizzlies on Sunday despite Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 30 points and 10 rebounds. The Bucks’ talisman is listed as day-to-day in the injury report but should take the floor with so much on the floor.

Milwaukee’s defence against a Morant-less Memphis was substandard and they were dominated in the paint.

The teams have split their two clashes so far this season. The Bucks won 118-109 in Milwaukee in November to make it six straight against the 76ers, with Giannis (31 pts, 16 reb) typically dominant while Tyrese Maxey had 31 points for the visitors. But Embiid missed that game and overshadowed Antetokounmpo in a 123-120 victory in Philly last month, going off for 42 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists.

The 76ers are 21-16 at home this season (15-22 ATS) but have lost three of their last five at Wells Fargo Center. The Bucks are 20-16 on the road (19-17 ATS), losing three of their last five away.

It’s a huge clash with the winner a big chance of running down the Heat for the top seed. The Bucks are hard to resist as an underdog with both teams somewhat patchy over the past couple of weeks, but I’m backing the Sixers in at home.

Best Bet: Handicap – 76ers -1.5 @ $1.90
