Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews the race meeting this afternoon at Ipswich and , with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 selected races. Good luck, punters!
Interesting race here. May well be the most watched race in Australia today because it features the racehorse part-owned by the late, great Shane Warne. And the torrent of sentimental money that has started pouring in matches the rain falling over NSW right now. Somewhere in Heaven Warnie is looking down on his family and will no doubt spend a few moments encouraging the Good Lord to get his promising 3YO colt, SACRED OATH home. This will be the horse’s second race start. On debut he was a strong finishing 2nd, beaten a head at Doomben. This should be a walk in the park – even before we factor in the celestial push he’ll receive. He will be short, so maybe the quinella play is the best bet. The filly TESAURA is strong enough to run into 2nd. Actually, no, let’s take the bull by the horns and go Exacta – Warnie to beat the filly home. Would be fitting today.
Here’s a cool race. Young Stacey Callow gets a great opportunity to add to her riding stats when she partners GOSDEN here. The horse has been runner-up in three of his last four runs – at this level so deserves a breakthrough. And while in Australia it was International Women’s Day yesterday, in most of the world right now it is still International Women’s Day so would make perfect sense for Gosden to get the cash for her. This is his first look at a trip like this, last start for instance was 1400m but did make ground that day. Has such a light weight after Stacey’s 3kg claim will be a big help. WEST CLIFF is honest. Quinella them.
Tip: GOSDEN @ $2.90
The way CALLA DREAM accelerated and charged late to claim her maiden win last start at this track, at just her 3rd race start, strongly suggests she is a progressive type. This is harder but money has come for her.
Tip: CALLA DREAM @ $4.20
