Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews today’s Hawkesbury meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 races. Good luck, punters!
Track Condition: Soft 7
Rail Position: Out 3m from 1100m to 450m, true remainder
What a good punting race. I say that because I think it has been ‘put on’ for Mark Newnham’s 3YO ASSIDUITY. He’s placed once, at this level, from his two race starts to date and that was back in November. He has since trialled very well and Newnham can get them up and running early in a prep. But what I like most about him – he is by Deep Field and his progeny swim on wet tracks. It’s a soft 7 today. So, get on.
I have a strong feeling this bloke CALIFORNIA LYNX, while not progressing to the top, may actually be quite handy and get better as the trip increases. If that theory stands up, then this race, his 4th in his life time, over a trip that is 200m farther than last start, might be the perfect race. He scored on that maiden last time out, running home hard and the form in it is standing up. Probably settles in the back half of the field today and this luxurious straight will be a help. ZA CEIBAS has good first-up form and he resumes here so that’s my quinella bet too.
Tip: CALIFORNIA LYNX
I am tipping you into a unraced baby here because I think, off his recent trial, that he can really run. His name is FIERCE LEGEND and he was 3rd in his trial but was placed in the run in situations where he couldn’t stretch out. Quite deliberately I think. It was a nice trial and he too is by Deep Field. The new combo of Richard and Will Freedman train him and this is their first runner together so would be fitting to win first go.
