Horse Racing Tips – Tuesday 19th April

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews today’s Geelong meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 races. Good luck, punters!

Track: Soft 7

It’s a funny thing about horse racing. Not always does the best horse in the field win the race. And I think that happens here. ZOUNILE is probably the one with the most upside and talent but today, I think she gets her colours lowered by the top weight BELLUNA. Only because, my tip is a leader and nothing else is. All the fancied runners like to drop back and run on. They have shown that in each of their starts whereas Belluna has endeavoured to win her races from the front. And last start she nearly did at Ballarat when leading from gate rise and being claimed late to run 3rd on a soft track. Gets that same track rating here and will be in front for a very long way. Quinella them.

This is a fascinating contest. And I suspect there is a sense of timing about the prep of CADBURY CASTLE. He is bred to run all day being by English sire Camelot and this will be just his 3rd race start. Thus far he has run 6th over a mile at Swan Hill on debut and last start was 4th at Terang over 1850m. On both occasions he got a long way out of his ground but steadily and clinically made impressive ground late. Today he sits back again I suspect and the trip will be right up his DNA. Obviously the odds-on pop ENOSI will be hard to beat as he too looks to improve every start. Quinella them.

Tough race with a few hopes but I like the improvement curve STONEFIELD is on. Trained by Team Corstens, he is 3rd up here. By Deep Field, means he will love the wet track and is graded well for this race. JACK OF IT who has been very heavily backed overnight, can run the quinella.
