Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews the race meeting this afternoon at Hawkesbury with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 selected races. Good luck, punters!
Interesting race here. I believe in the old racing adage, ‘where there is smoke there is fire.’ Meaning in this context that signs by stables about a horse’s talents tend to bear fruit. Take the 4YO mare RANGITIKEI for instance here. She has raced just 0nce for a 4th at Goulburn. But, all her trials have been with Hughie and Kay Mac on top. Plus Mr Bowman rode her on debut. Trainer Chris Waller wouldn’t do that if he didn’t sense something special about this mare. May still be a run or two away but is worth having a go at today I believe at the big price. Quinella her with SEMECO.
Here’s a cool race. TLots of in form types in this including SHORT SHORTS who is on her home track, EXTREME GEM who won on debut and KOUKLARA who has placed at past 6 starts. I’m on her here. I think her honesty and her fitness will get her home today. After winning a maiden quite comfortably on a slow track at Newcastle, she stepped up to this class at Kembla and rattled home from the back to grab 3rd. Smaller field here, long straight and now fitter I think she comes so hard this time she lobs on the wire. Certainly Short Shorts is racing well enough to be right in the finish too.
I liked the way GYMNASTICS resumed from a spell recently. Her form had drifted off last campaign suggest suggesting something wasn’t right so she was sent to the paddock for several months. Last start she made ground and looked back to her best when 3rd this grade. Obviously fitter now and I note there has been a fair bit of activity at the bookies for her. Respect all that.
