Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews the race meeting this afternoon at Wyong, with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 selected races. Good luck, punters!
Interesting race here. CAMINO REAL comes into it as the best performed runner and he has been backed. But so too has the local horse FIELDING. He carries number 1 and he steps from gate 1. This is his 3rd race start and he comes into it extremely fit after placing twice at this level. Looks to drive forward and be in the top 3 from the get go. Wyong-trained horses grow a leg when they race on their home tracks so I suspect this bloke will be right in the finish here. Quinella them up.
Tip: FIELDING @ $3.80
Here’s a fascinating race. I do like the look of Bjorn Baker’s horse here WOLFBURN. From this gate he will jump and I suspect this time they will send him forward. If he can cross and find the fence being 3rd up today I suspect he just keeps rolling. Will love this track which favours horses on the pace and he will love that he’s coming back 50m in trip. Last start he was 3rd at Newcastle at this level when handy throughout. Much fitter now. DEFINITELY MAYBE is definitely my 2nd choice. Watch market.
Tip: WOLFBURN @ $7.00
This is one of those Rising Star heats for the apprentice riders and I like the timely omen runner in the field CAMPLIN. At the Winter Olympics in 2002 Alisa Camplin won the gold for Australia in the Aerials and the bronze at the next Olympics. So Camplin winning something while the Winter Olympics are on again would seem rather fitting. And I think this filly can. She’s taken a bit of time to find her running legs but the way she hit the line in a driving finish last start over 1150m in a maiden was encouraging. Jenny Duggan rides her here.
Tip: CAMPLIN @ $8.00
