Horse Racing Tips – Tuesday 14th June

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews today’s Scone meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 races. Good luck, punters!

Track: Soft 6

I do love a horse with a proven fresh record and this city trained filly I LOVE LUCY has that. She just flies when first-up and is resuming here over 900m. She goes particularly well for Winona Costin who takes the ride today and she has drawn nicely. I see her pinging the lids and controlling the tempo – which should be breakneck. Her maiden win was while fresh first-up and she won it over this journey by nearly 2 lengths in very fast time. EPIC TIME, her main rival, will get back. He can really finish off but he will be giving this filly a fair start once they turn. I’ll quinella them but I like the leader more.

Interesting race. I do like this Kim Waugh trained filly PICCADILLY LASS. To watch her be totally unwanted in the betting on debut over 1200m, simply because of her pedigree, then see her rocket home from near last on the bend to grab 2nd at this level, had Black Booker written all over her. She is by Adelaide so is expected to get better as the races get longer. Serg Lisnyy takes the reins today and he knows her well riding her work. The long straight here and extra 100m will suit her a great deal. She just needs to replicate that first start effort but I suspect she has improved a length or so and will love this journey.

There is an honesty about RUPERTSON that appeals here. He’s not the best horse in racing, but he is a trier and this grade here suits. I see him going forward and being on speed all the ay. If he has taken improvement from his solid first up 2nd at Bathurst at this trip, he will take catching. VELORUM has the big weight but should dash home hard late.  Good quinella bet.
