Horse Racing Tips – Thursday 2nd June

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews today’s Wyong meetings, with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 races. Good luck, punters!

I must applaud clubs for putting on these type of races – they truly help owners. These horses are all slow and will never amount too much but as we focus on today’s race I do like CATARATAS. Peter Robl trains him and he is a rising 7YO having just his 3rd run in this. Last start, a few weeks back, he was not only in a tougher maiden at Hawkesbury, but is was also too short for him, AND, he was on the slow part of the track yet he kept whacking away and was only beaten 3 lengths. Today, given the mid-race pace will be slower, he can slot back about 6th, then angle to the fast lane and come home hard. I like him a lot and at 9am he was $4.60. I’ll take that.

Interesting race. The two that dominate the market are NICKELBACK for Team Hawkes and SHIRSHOV for James Cummings. Both were runner-up at their latest starts and the Godolphin horse is the fav here as his placing, beaten a neck at Hawkesbury at this level, was a strong run. But I am favouring the other bloke. He resumes here and does have two solid trials in him, also was placed in town last campaign. Gets back and runs home hard and it just appears like he needed the time to mature. He’s also by the same sire as Nature Strip.  Big chance. Quinella them up.

LAUNCH ATTACK is trained here and won his maiden here. Is very fit and Hughie has the mount. Should run on gamely but I’m backing VYNER to finish faster. He’s 3rd up, weighted beautifully under the set weights scale, and seems ready to run a blinder. Quinella them up.
