Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews today’s Gosford & Bathurst meetings, with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 races. Good luck, punters!
Small field lining up here but a competitive field. Trying to work out the result based on running patterns is a task I enjoyed. This is how it will be. I think ONE WAY STREET and XPRESSO will jump and vie for the lead. Both have front-running victories under their belts built on heavy tracks so both sets of connections will expect to lead. OAKFIELD MAHOGANY, who just did not run on at all last start, probably sits three lengths back in 3rd to the bend. As they straighten, One way street will be on the rails and he will yield to Xpresso down the running. Oakfield Mahogany will dash late but the bird will have flown and Xpresso will land the cash with One way Street hanging on for 3rd.
Interesting race. I do like the look of Gary Portelli’s filly UPGRADES here. I suspect she will be up on speed all the way perhaps sitting on the outside of MISS ADRENALIN. Today will be her 4th start and she is tough enough to kick as they turn and hang on. DAR LEGEND has been heavily backed and was 4th last start in a similar race. but 2nd home that day was Upgrades and I can’t see the tables being turned.
Good, strong competitive filly this. Off her solid debut effort when sent straight to the front from gate rise and winding up 2nd home, you just knew this was a filly going places. This is probably 2 lengths easier than last start and she is probably 2 lengths stronger, fitter and faster. I absolutely expect Brenton Avdulla to send her to the lead and just keep going today. If you get $2.00, I suggest you double your bet.
