Horse Racing Tips – Thursday 16th June

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews today’s Wyong meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 races. Good luck, punters!

Track: Soft 6

The Mat Smith stable is firing up of late and he presents this 2YO filly TWELVE HOURS here. Under the Set Weights scale she comes into this carrying the least amount of weight and helpfully, the best form too. Last start against her own age, she ran a cracking 2nd at Canterbury behind a smart one and came form 8th on the bend to do so. She was beaten half a length on a very wet track. Drops in weight here in a weaker race and is now 3rd up. But, bet with some caution because Hughie’s mount THE REPLICANT has been smashed overnight firming from $2.55 to $1.95. Obvious quinella but the pull in the weights makes me stick with the filly.

Tip: TWELVE HOURS

Interesting race. I do like one here and will bet accordingly. It’s the luckless top weight FIELDING. He has raced 3 times at this track and been runner-up, all in this grade, 3 times. On each occasion he carried more weight than today and on each occasion he drew worse than he does today. This afternoon he is 3rd up and just looks beautifully placed. Last start he came late to just fail on a heavy track this trip. THE HALO, who has been backed to win this, was behind him that day and she meets him 3kg worse off for losing to him. Must say, I’m rather confident.

Tip: FIELDING

I think if you can find $2.10 or better, just get on. THE MILKYBAR KID looks like leading these all the way and winning easily. Thatr’s my best assessment. He’s from NZ and he’s a tough, strong, city class galloper now with Gai and Adrian. Ran 2nd when racing in this class for them for the first time last start. Much fitter now and the money is coming in. Get on.
