Horse Racing Tips – Sat 5th March

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN previews Saturday’s Randwick , with horse racing tips and analysis for all 10 races on the card. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Heavy 10

Rail Position: Out 6m from 1000m to w/p, 3m remainder

The 2kg claim for the in form and very consistent ABOVE AND BEYOND will be a huge help here on a very heavy track. Is very fit and did run home to grab a placing in better company last start.

BETHENCOURT is back to best with a really solid win last start when 2nd up. Looks right up to this grade and will carry the weight well. Fitter now.

McCORMACK seems to have forgotten how to win but is well up to this grade. Drawn the fence and is racing well without winning, including a great 2nd this grade two starts back. This is harder but he looks to have gears and can finish.

What a race. The overlooked horse in Slipper betting, RUSSIAN CONQUEST looks well placed here. She has loads of finishing talent and is very determined. Has raced three times, losing only once when beaten a head in the Magic Millions. On home track here. If she gets through the mud she looks very hard to beat.

OJAI is 3rd up now and is honest. Can hit the line too. Big danger.

Not many horses enter a race with a bigger boom than this unraced GREECE. Two trials, two easy wins and has been backed to win this.

This Breeders’ Plate winner SEJARDAN is extremely good and his work at Canterbury last Friday on top of his strong effort first up in the Millennium when wide all the way says he is ready for this.

SHALATIN chased Sejardin home and in fact nearly beat him in the $1m Golden Gift. His first up effort when well back in a race not run to suit was only average but reports are he has improved lengths. Watch market.

The way PSYCHIATRIST just jumped and led than ran away from his rivals last start in a maiden when resuming from a spell was highly impressive. He should lead these and may well lead them all the way.

ENTENTE will have taken a lot from his first-up effort when he fought hard to the wire just getting weary latter stages running 7th. This is tough but I see him finishing closer.

MIGHTYBEEL is just making such a name for himself. Chimes in when he sees fit and races away, as he did this grade last start. Up in weight but looks to be one on the rise.

SHERAZ is headed toward the Gr 1 Sydney Cup in a few weeks and may well be the one to beat. He is 2nd up here and the mud makes him a real live threat.

The way NATURE STRIP has come back this campaign combined with the fact he handled EDUARDO last start and has earned $16 million in prize money says he will win this. When you add the fact he has won 5 times on wet tracks and two out of two on heavy tracks. Looks unbeatable.

Too his credit Eduardo has lowered his colours in the past and this is the trip he is most likely to do it again at but he was just beaten too easily last start by him when 3rd in the Gr 1 Lightning. Does look the quinella bet.

SPLINTEX resumes here and has sprinting talent but not in the same hemisphere as the main two big boys.

PROFITEER is grades above these if he puts his mind to it. Wet track will not be an issue. From this gate he jumps, runs, and if he does so tractably he will be 4 lengths clear when they turn for home. game over.

MAZU is extremely talented and is trained here. looked very smart winning when resuming last start. Will set out after the leader when they turn and will run on.

Last campaign DRAGONSTONE put everyone on notice about how good he is. Resumes here, bad draw but he will make ground late.

What a terrific race. From a betting perspective anyway. KOLDING is capable of improving a great deal on his poor run first-up at WFA level. Is capable of being on speed and being in this finish. Fitter now.

PRIVATE EYE has trialled really well twice this prep. Last season he was a star winning a Gr 1 over a mile. Absolutely swims in heavy going and will be rocketing home late.

SPECIAL REWARD is in career best form and is well up to this level. Rattled home for 3rd last start in a stronger race. looms large.

LIGHTHOUSE is extremely smart and more than that is very, very honest. Loves it wet, is up to this level and will be the one to beat.

Tip: 1. LIGHTHOUSE,  2, Private Eye, Special Reward, 4. Kolding

Fantastic race. Some superstars of the future lining up here. ANAMOE is the best 3YO in the land. Doesn’t win by much, a bit like Lonhro and Octagonal, but does hit the line in front and loves this journey. Should beat these.

CONVERGE is at his best over this journey. Is a Gr 1 winner this trip. Is trained here. Is 3rd up. Is capable of finishing like a train. Big threat.

HILAL railed up, headed Anamoe last start and only that horse’s fighting spirit denied him in a close photo finish. Is a multiple Gr 1 place getter including twice at this track. Is 3rd up here and his soft track form is outstanding. Strong claims.

SINBA is a long way up in class but knows how to win. Can run home hard and his two restricted class wins this time up have been impressive.

Tip: 1. ANAMOE,  2. Converge, 3. Hilal, 4. Sinba

The big grey mare POLLY GREY has won first-up in the past and she resumes here. She absolutely swims in the mud and loves this trip. The field isn’t overly strong and no surprise to see her swamp these late.

LE GAI SOLEIL resumed with an authoritative win last start in weaker grade but is said something about her. She is back with renewed vigour. Big show.

LE LUDE made up a lot of ground late in same grade when 3rd to Expat last start over 1300m. has always been better at this trip.

This locally trained mare MARBOOSHA looks beautifully placed here. She has form as good if not better than these and her first-up 4th in Melbourne at this level last start was a very promising effort. Will plough through the ground and looks the one to beat.

BELLUCI BABE is smart and honest. Will be on speed all the way and is super fit. Big place hope.

This is a big rise in class for JOVIALITY but she likes it wet and did win handsomely in a weaker race last start.
