Horse Racing Tips – Randwick – Sat 16th April

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN previews Saturday’s Randwick , with horse racing tips and analysis for all 10 races on the card. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Soft 8

Rail Position: Out 8m from 1600m to w/p, 5m remainder

Scone trainer Cam Crockett has a leading hand in this race accepting with three runners, the best ion them probably MR HUSSILL. He gets a 2kg claim here and that brings him in perfectly at the weights. Is 3rd up and does have a powerful finish when right.

BOOM BOOM BASIL has talent and resumes here. He has a most impressive fresh record and if there is money on the market for him, perhaps include in your numbers.

WHATEVER I SAY is down from port Macquarie and seems to have grown a leg on these wet tracks of late. Certain to settle about midfield but can finish off and is in a purple patch of form at present.

This looks a good race for DIVINE BREATH. Did win this grade last prep and although up 5kg does look in better order now. First-up 5th in a tougher race was outstanding trial for this.

FRENCH BONNET was average first-up in a. similar race. Last prep won brilliantly when 2nd top so expect a bolder showing in this.

MAHAGONI will take a great deal from his first-up in Australia 5th last start. Did make a lot of ground late and is fitter now.

The Derby distance just came to soon for WAR ETERNAL last start when a plodding 8th of 18. Better suited here both in terms of distance and class drop. Will take beating.

RAGING BULL will be big odds but shouldn’t be. He has talent and is very fit. Made steady ground all the way when 6th to Hitotsu in the Gr 1 Derby last start. Better suited this journey. Fitter now and can run on hard.

STRAIGHT ARRON shows a great deal of promise. Up a long way in grade but will hit the line hard.

FIREBURN is the Champion 2YO for good reason. She is better than her rivals.

SHE’S EXTREME has ran ed Fireburn 3 times and been beaten easily by her each time. Should again but looks the quinella bet.

LET’SROLLTHEDICE is smart. Will develop into a very smart Gr 1 racehorse. Won the Sires’ in Victoria then was 3rd in NSW version behind Fireburn. Place again.

WILLIAMSBURG is on quick backup and that was a really strong win this age and track and trip last start. Big show.

Tip: 1. FIREBURN,  2. She’s Extreme, 3. Let’srollthedice, 4. Williamsburg

If the real ESPIONA turns up she wins this with her head on her chest. But she hasn’t won in 3 races this prep. Saying that, this firming track will appeal to her a lot more than the Heavy ones she has had to compete on.

CAP ESTEL finished right alongside Espiona in the mud in the Gr 1 Coolmore then ran a great 3rd to the exciting Straight Arron. This is her home track so must be fancied.

FESTIVAL DANCER was charging through the grades last prep, winning 4 in a row including a Gr 3. Resumes here but trialled well.

This might be a good race for old KEMENTARI as there appears just one leader and he should be able to find a decent spot. He is potent when resuming and is that here. If they are running on from the back he will charge late as he likes it damp too.

BIG PARADE looks the pace and the one to beat. Great 2nd in the Gr 1 The Galaxy when resuming and should handle this trip even better. Loves it damp and is on home soil. Looks too slick.

QUANTICO can run on when right. is 2nd up here and did win brilliantly when 2nd up last campaign.

What a terrific race. On form ICEBATH should be winning this but she has only ever won 4 races and none at Gr 1 level, although has placed at that lofty level a fair few times. Has earned $4.2million for her connections. This is about the weakest field she has been opposed to for her last 20 starts but she has never won at 2000m and this is her 3rd weekend in a row. Saying that she should be in your numbers.

POLLY GREY is tough, in form, reliable, can stay and loves it wet. Big threat.

On weights and measures the Kiwi MARRONI should win this. Has won on a damp track at Gr 3 level in NZ and was a great 3rd here on Aussie debut behind Mt Popa. Strong lightweight chance.

Fantastic race. The weather is probably the key to this great contest. And it looks like staying fine and dry with a fast firming track all day. MO’UNGA is very good at this level and he will appreciate the early dash that looks certain to ensue. Is 2nd up and will run on hard.

As will the Victorian ZOUTORI who will be big odds. He has been sneaking along quietly and did run a good 6th to Nature Strip last start.

FORBIDDEN LOVE is just too strong to leave out. After winning 3 on the bounce, she hit the front in the Gr 1 Doncaster Mile but just couldn’t see it out. Shorter trip is a big help here.

Victorian mare SIERRA SUE will love everything about this race. She is a Gr 1 winner this trip and is very fit. Will absolutely fly home late.

Tip: 1. SIERRA SUE,  2. Mo’unga, 3. Forbidden Love, 4. Zoutori

This looks so open, probably 2 million chances. The Kiwi visitor having first Aussie start, MALI STON is pretty darn classy and he LOVES the mud. Resumes here but last start was 3rd at Gr 1 level over a mile. Watch closely.

OUR PLAYBOY is back in best form and that is good enough for this. Game 2nd last start and 3rd up here makes him cherry ripe.

CRIADERAS isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but on his day he is a Group class horse. Resumes here and does do his best while fresh.

Near impossible to work out. So, so many chances, the track will be a mess, probably racing wide helps, and very few form lines to compare. Arghhhh.

Victorian sprinter PINTOFF is right in this if he runs up to his best. Does handle the mud too and is 2nd up here.

KATALIN is a Godolphin runner with plenty of class and is coming off a game 3rd when resuming this class last start. Should be fitter.

MAOTAI is fast and can control this if left alone in front. Is 3rd up so should be ready to go bang.

Tip: 1. MAOTAI
