Horse Racing Tips & Previews – Sandown Hillside | Wed 9th March

Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Wednesday’s Sandown Hillside meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 9 races. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Soft 5

Rail Position: Out 13m entire circuit

GLINT OF HOPE is easily the best galloper in the race. She was placed at Group 3 level two starts back and if stable have here sharp enough first-up she can get away with this.

JENNIFERENTI resumes from a spell. She was competitive in a harder race before break at Flemington. She is another that if stable have her wound up she will go close.

BRITISH COLUMBIA caught the eye final stages when he was placed fresh from a break. He will strip fitter and has race fitness on a few of these.

MATSUKAZE showed good speed and was only beaten on the line after fighting the race out tenaciously last start. Drawn bit awkwardly but has chance to go one better.

This is a big step up for TOBAYSURE from maiden class but the way he demolished them at Pakenham first-up was impressive. Happy to suggest he will win at city level.

SEBASTIAN THE FOX is the big query in this. Was always going to find them a bit too slick at Ballarat first-up and was never in the race. He was placed in Derby Trial second-up last prep.

TESER covered plenty of ground first-up at The Valley and was entitled to battle late. Fitter and finds a nice race here.

ALBURQ is the most experienced and best horse in the race coming off last start Sale placing. Barrier a concern but cannot leave out.

MR BLACKWOOD started favourite at The Valley last start but after showing early speed he just battled before the corner. Craig Williams takes the ride and he can bounce back in this.

WELLSFORD finished too well to get up in last couple of strides two starts back then was close up when placed last start. He will be in mix again.

CONVICT SAM should get the ideal run in behind the speed from his inside barrier. Been racing consistently in easier class but can measure up to these.

Really liked the way MOREAN attacked the line to win her maiden at Sale on debut. Sure to be better from the race experience and although drawn wide happy to have something each-way.

MIANADO won her maiden two starts back then was making good late ground last start. Watch for her to be making good late ground.

WHITE WEDDING finally got her maiden out of the way when she won at Werribee first-up from spell. She will be fitter and can win again.

HASSELTOFF powered home to just miss behind a smart one at Caulfield last start. Going to need some luck from wide gate but if he holds that form can get away with this.

OCEAN’S THIRTEEN was placed at Lakeside two starts back then beaten less than 2 lengths here last start. Will be right in the mix again.

UPSWING should have finished closer at The Valley first-up after being held-up. Drawn to get ideal run and with luck in the straight he can figure in this.

PAL D’ORO rarely runs a bad race and he has been in strong form winning two of his last four starts. Can never leave him out of winning chances.

MIDNIGHT CHARM did not have all that much luck on debut at Pakenham but he still sprinted clear and won with something in hand. He looks city class and can measure up to these.

MORE SECRETS resumes. Beaten less than a length when fresh last time in work then she was running on late in Group 3 before break. She just might be better than these first-up.

EL SALTO stayed on final stages and finished in the placings at The Valley first-up. Barrier the concern but a must for first four players.

AUSTRATA comes into this third-up from spell. He has been placed in both starts this prep and looks primed to find best form. Drawn ideally and can get away with this.

SANTERO won with something in hand at Pakenham two starts back then followed up with last start placing this track. Never runs a bad race.

HOPKINS was placed at The Valley two starts back then he just got too far back last start and only battled. Like him on bigger track and has ideal barrier.

FLANDERSRAIN just did too much work at Caulfield last start and could not finish the race off. She gets in an easier affair here and she can make amends.

RUMBLED AGAIN looks promising working through her grades impressively and she could not have been more dominant winning at The Valley last start. No reason she cannot continue on her winning ways.

NEW CHOICE raced up on the speed at The Valley last start but just found one better final stages. He finds similar race and can figure again.

THE GARDEN comes into this ready to win third-up from spell. Just missed at Caulfield first-up then started odds on when placed at Flemington last start. He can win this.

QUALITY TIME is the big query. Import making his debut for the Waller stable. German form was solid and recent trial suggests he will give this a shake fresh.

NAMAKWA is first-up from a break. Placed when fresh last time in work and although he has drawn touch wide cannot leave out in this field.
