Horse Racing Tips & Previews – Flemington | Sat 4th June

Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Saturday’s Flemington meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 9 races. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Soft 7

Rail Position: Out 9m entire circuit

WARNING returns to his favourite track third-up from spell. Scene of his greatest win when he took out the Victoria Derby. Not beaten all that far away here last start and happy to have something each way.

MASERARTIE BAY failed on the heavy at Warrnambool last start but he had won two previous start and if he can strike a better track here will be right in the mix.

Patrick Payne produces DOUBLE YOU TEE third-up from spell. Improved effort at Caulfield last start and on the bigger track at Flemington is a must for first four players.

GHAANATI is a half sister to Pride Of Dubai from the Snowden team. She has shown enough in recent jumpouts to suggest she has ability and Damien Oliver takes the ride. If supported in market happy to follow.

BOUND FOR HOME showed good pace to lead them on the heavy at Ballarat and maintained clear margin to the line. She will be better from that experience and can win again.

DUSSE got her maiden out of the way with a soft win at Geelong last start. She looks above average and no reason she cannot measure up to city class.

AMERICAIN ANGEL won a couple in town before coming to Flemington last start and being beaten just over 2 lengths before break. She has been placed in all three first-up tries and will go close in this.

THALASSOPHILE is a model of consistency. She was placed here last start and although will need some luck from the wide gate from the 1400m cannot leave her out.

BELLA ROUGE found heavy ground in Sydney first-up and she ran a super race running into second spot. She will be better from that outing and gets chance to go one better.

ELZAMEE was much better when he got on to the better ground at Caulfield last start and returned to winners stall. The barrier will prove difficult but he can win again.

THE CLAIMANT looks close to a win. He was good when placed at Caulfield two starts back then just overraced last start and could not finish race off. He gets his chance.

YELLOWBRICK ROAD should get the perfect run in transit in behind the leader. He strips fitter second-up and with gaps opening in the straight may finish too well for these.

RED HOT NICC won with something in hand at Sale two starts back then he just missed in a driving finish here last start. Finds similar and can go one better.

DIAMONDS comes across the border. Beaten less than a length at Morphettville two starts back then forget run in Group 3 company last start when always wide. Looking for her to bounce back in this.

GRAND POPE resumes from a spell. He was placed at Pakenham when first-up last time in work. Rarely far away in his races and cannot leave him out of place chances.

KISSINGER made some good late ground here last start and was not beaten all that far. Comes into this third-up from spell and ready to find best form.

LYRICAL LAD was doing his best work late and only just missed here last start. Finds similar race and gets chance to go one better.

WELSH LEGEND sprinted quickly and was an impressive winner here last start. If she can find the same acceleration she will be in finish again.

CARDINAL GEM comes into this ready third-up from a spell. Been placed in both runs back and he will be returning to winners stall shortly.

TUAHINE was impressive getting her maiden out of the way at Pakenham first-up. She looks up to city class and no reason she will not be in finish again.

LITERARY MAGNATE comes into this ready third-up from spell. She has been solid in both runs back from spell and although drawn wide will be powering home late.

Most punters saw the luckless run of IT’SOURTIME here last start when he was badly held-up last 400m and arguably should have won. Gets out to the 1400m here and he can make amends.

TUVALU finished too well winning on the heavy ground at Warrnambool first-up from spell then was only nabbed late last start. Concern her is the barrier draw but cannot leave out.

MYSTERY SHOT fought the race out tenaciously and only just missed here last start. Comes into this ready third-up from spell and he will be right in the mix.

PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE looks a city class filly having won her first two career starts on the provincial circuit with authority. Happy to go with her in the last.

DRAGONSTONE has been racing well on the wet tracks in Sydney last couple but just finding it hard to win. Should find outside rail in this and he gets his chance.

SQUID GAME started favourite here first-up but just looked in need of the run when peaked late. He will be fitter from the outing and should get his chance.
