Horse Racing Tips & Previews – Flemington | Sat 12th March

Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Saturday’s Flemington meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 9 races. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Good 4

Rail Position: Out 5m entire circuit

MOKO was not disgraced when resuming in the Blue Diamond Prelude. Like her getting out to the 1200m down the Flemington straight and going to have something each way.

NANGUI looked little stiff not to finish closer in the G3 Chairman’s Stakes on debut. Sure to be better from the outing and she will be right in the mix.

MUMBAI JEWEL finished too well to get the prize at Randwick two starts back then he chased steadily after losing a plate here last start. Would not leave her out.

KIKO made some good late ground in the Talindert down the straight on debut. Third-up from spell and would not leave out of multiples.

Tip: MOKO

TURAATH led a Group 1 field last start and although overran final stags was not beaten all that far. Back against the mares here and that looks ideal.

PROMISE OF SUCCESS comes into this ready to win third-up from spell. Two solid Sydney placings leading into this and expect she will be right in the mix.

FLYING MASCOT jumped to the front and gave nothing else a chance in Group 3 company at Caulfield last start. She makes her own luck going forward and is up to this.

ROCHA CLOCK looked in need of the run when she weakened first-up in Sydney. She always improves second-up from spell and would include her in multiples.

Tip: TURAATH

REMARQUE resumes from a spell. He has always shown he is above average and two recent trial wins suggest this maybe the prep where he lives up to potential. This a winnable race fresh.

CRYSTAL BOUND resumes from spell. She won at Listed level down the Flemington straight last prep and recent trial will have her forward for this.

GIMMIE PAR is another smart filly resuming from a break. She was sent out favourite at Caulfield fresh last campaign and proved too strong. Will not be surprised to see her get away with this.

GENERAL BEAU is such a consistent colt. Had no luck in the G1 Oakleigh Plate last start and forget finishing position. Loves the straight and can never leave him out.

Tip: REMARQUE

Really liked the run of BONHEUR at Caulfield last start when beaten less than 2 lengths. Going to need some luck from his wide gate but happy to have something each way.

SIR BAILEY started favourite at Hillside last start and he won with something in hand. Drawn to get the perfect run in transit and he can measure up to this.

MERCHANT PRINCE chased home hard when placed at Hillside two back then he was not disgraced in the Blue Diamond. This easier and out to the 1400m looks ideal.

MAN IN THE MIRROR found heavy ground first-up in Sydney and he had excuses pulling up with a slow recovery. Better from the outing and is up to this.

Tip: BONHEUR

YEARNING was doing her best work final stages when ran into minor placing at Caulfield first-up from spell. Out to the 1600m looks ideal and she can get away with this.

ARGENTIA impressed winning first-up then she kept grinding away when just found one better last start. Third-up from spell and she can bounce back to winners stall.

BARB RAIDER was sent out short favourite here first-up and she did not let supporters down with soft win in the end. Loves Flemington and she will be in finish again.

ARKTIKA is a promising filly from the Maher/Eustace stable. She has been dominant working through her classes and although his much harder she cannot be dismissed.

Tip: YEARNING

Really liked the turn-of-hoof LOST AND RUNNING showed in winning first-up at Randwick. Expect he will sit in behind a hot speed and look for Hughie to let him down last 200m and he can finish over these.

HOME AFFAIRS was just too speedy for them when holding off Nature Strip to win the Lightning. Unbeaten in two Flemington straight track runs and he will be the one to catch.

Did not mind the way POLAND finished the race off in the Oakleigh Plate first-up. He will be better from that outing and watch for him to be hitting the line hard.

SEPTEMBER RUN resumes from spell. Her best run last prep is when placed fresh and if she can find her best could be the one at odds for first four players.

Tip: LOST AND RUNNING

THINK IT OVER beat a class field to win the G2 Apollo Stakes with something in hand first-up from spell. Not sure he was at his best on heavy last start but still less than 2 lengths behind Verry Elleegant. Third-up and he can win this.

SPANISH MISSION was enormous when placed in the Melbourne Cup. May have had enough when bit flat in the Zipping Classic before break. His run was super first-up and he will be better from the run.

DUAIS found them too slick in the Apollo then thought she was much better when less than 2 lengths off in the G1 Chipping Norton. Out to the 2000m ideal.

DELPHI looked in need of the run at Caulfield first-up. He led them up before being overran final stages. Should drive through and lead again and if gets own way will take catching.

Tip: THINK IT OVER

CHAILLOT is unbeaten first-up from spell winning all four tries fresh. She has won three of four this track/distance and happy to put her on top.

CHERRY TORTONI was only getting warm when the race was all over first-up. He will be fitter from that outing and expect him to be hitting the line hard.

AIN’TNODELLDUN resumes from spell. He was well held in a Bendigo maiden when first-up last time in work but progressed through to Listed win this track before break. Big watch fresh.

MORVADA comes into this ready third-up from spell. Has the pace to lead these from ideal barrier and if left alone will take catching.

Tip: CHAILLOT

Going to finish the day having an each way wager on LINA’S LEGEND. She fought the race out tenaciously when placed fresh then just battled here last start. Third-up and expecting him to bounce back.

SOCIALIST won in Sydney first-up from break. She has been most consistent since and beaten just on a length in The Vanity here last start. Expect she will run well.

CARDIGAN QUEEN finished too well to win at Lakeside first-up then beaten less than a length by Barb Raider last outing. That good form for this.

DOUCEUR is the big query resuming from a spell. Placed in the Wakeful and Oaks back in the spring and recent trial will have her ready for cheeky run fresh.

Tip: LINA’S LEGEND
