Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Monday’s Flemington meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 8 races. Good luck, punters!
Track Condition: Good 4
Rail Position: True entire circuit
ROUSSEAU is racing in super form. Won three of his last four starts. Controlled the race from the front winning at Mornington last start and may try similar tactics again.
STEEL PRINCE kept grinding away in the small field at Caulfield last start and held minor placing. Loves the bigger track at Flemington and this a nice race for him.
KILLOURNEY worked home strongly when just missed place at Hillside first-up then went to Mount Gambier and was unlucky not to win the Cup. Cannot leave him out.
I AM ME looks a promising filly and she gets chance to win in town. Won as she liked at Ballarat last start and that form looks good enough for this.
FLORESCENT STAR chased home steadily from the back when placed at Caulfield first-up. She will be better from that outing and will be right in the mix.
TYCOON HUMMA finished too well to win at Hillside first-up then liked the way she hit the line at The Valley. Bigger track here looks ideal.
Tip: I AM ME
Really liked the way TIJUANA hit the line to win on debut suggesting he will thrive at the 1400m and beyond. Happy to go with him again.
MISS DUNSFORD won her maiden on debut then was making good late ground when placed last start. Will appreciate the step to this distance and is a winning chance.
FOREIGN RAIDER was doing her best work final stages when placed in small field on debut. Better from the race experience and cannot leave out.
CARDIGAN QUEEN did cover some extra ground when beaten favourite at Bendigo last start. She has been racing well and gets chance to return to winners stall.
ASYMMETRICAL won two straight then was placed at Bendigo last start beating Cardigan Queen. Only needs to hold that form to be right in the mix.
TARZI CALLING got his maiden out of the way winning with ease at Benalla last start. This a big step up but he looks above average and this is not beyond him.
Tip: CARDIGAN QUEEN
CHERRY TORTONI was placed here two starts back then he was strong last 100m winning at Bendigo. He races well this track and can win again.
KING MAGNUS has been racing in the top class of races and just falling short. Not disgraced in G1 Doncaster Handicap last start and back in winnable race here.
FLASH AAH showed an impressive turn-of-hoof and got the job done at Bendigo first-up from spell. Gets out to preferred distance range and must include again.
Tip: CHERRY TORTONI
CORKSCREW has come back in super form having won both starts this time in. Should get to outside rail and lead these and no reason he cannot win again.
SQUID GAME resumes from spell. Won his first two starts then was not disgraced when placed here before a break. He is smart and can win this fresh.
STAR PATROL demolished a maiden field at Pakenham first-up from break. This a harder task but if he produces that form will be a factor.
ALEGRON just looks a bit too classy for these. Beaten less than a length in G1 Australian Derby last start and he only needs to hold that form to win this.
RAGING BULL has not been enjoying the wet ground up in Sydney but in saying that he has raced in top class. May get firmer here and is up to being in the finish.
THE CUNNING FOX won the St. Leger trial at Bendigo then chased home the smart Mamounia last outing. He cannot be left out of chances.
ROCKRIBBED started long odds on but just got the job done at Lakeside. He looks promising having won two of last three and if Jamie Kah can get him to outside rail he can win again.
JUCCONI is a smart gelding from the McEvoy stable. Did a few things wrong but still won with something in hand at The Valley last start. Won three of four starts and will be in finish again.
ZAC DE BOSS won at Hillside two starts back then was beaten less than 2 lengths here last start. Only needs to hold that form to be in exotics.
