Horse Racing Tips & Previews – Caulfield | Sat 26th Feb

Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Saturday’s Caulfield meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 9 races. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Good 4

Rail Position: Out 3m entire circuit

Hard to see them beating GENERATION on what he showed here first-up from spell. Drawn to drive through and sit on the speed and expect him to win again.

FINANCE TYCOON did not have all that much luck at The Valley when wide last start but he stayed on and held placing. Will get much better run second-up.

CHARTRES resumes from spell. Ran into a placing at Mornington first-up last time in work and from inside gate expect him to be in finish.

MARS MISSION won his maiden fresh then went to The Valley last start and he demolished them. This a step up but he is progressive and can measure up.

FLYING MASCOT held off all but Group 1 winner Probabeel here first-up. She will be much better from that outing and gets chance to go one better.

BONVICINI was close up here two starts back then she was beaten less than 2 lengths last start. She only needs to hold that form to be right in the mix.

BOUND TO WIN chased home solidly in a nice race first-up at Randwick last start. Drawn perfectly and with that run under her girth she will be a factor in this.

UNDER MY SPELL won fresh then she has been racing in consistent form since. Only needs to hold that form to be in finish.

MAHREZ had no luck in the Autumn Stakes here last start when he was stuck wide throughout and entitled to tire final stages. Third-up and he looks nice each-way value.

LUCKY DECISION won his first couple this prep then chased home bravely when placed here last start. He gets his chance to return to winners stall.

EL PATRONESS looked the unlucky runner here first-up. She was held-up at vital stage but still hit line hard into minor placing. Fitter and can win this.

CASTLEREAGH KID won his maiden by a big space first-up then went to Hillside and won again. This a harder task but he looks promising.

ARGENTIA returned to racing in super fashion winning the G3 Kevin Hayes. Out to the 1400m looks ideal for her and all she needs is an ounce of luck from inside gate.

YEARNING resumes from spell. She won at Group 1 level in the 1000 Guineas at this track last Spring. Quality filly and she will be in the mix fresh.

DECENT RAINE won with ease at Flemington two starts back then she was only overran late here last start. She will be up front for a long way.

CASCADIAN rushed home final stages to place in Group 1 company first-up from spell. Sure to strip fitter and from inside gate he looks a bit better than these.

CALLSIGN MAV fought the race out tenaciously here first-up from spell and only just missed. Back to the 1400m an interesting task but cannot leave out.

DELPHI resumes from a break. He has won fresh and although better when gets over further than this may run a cheeky race.

SHARED AMBITION battled on well from well off them here first-up. He will strip fitter and his second-up record (6:3-1-0) suggests he will be right in the mix.

I’M THUNDERSTRUCK was only getting warm late in the C.F.Orr first-up. Fitter for this and he should sit closer in small field and finish all over these.

MO’UNGA absolutely flies fresh (4:3-0-1). Annabel Neasham has given him a couple of trials to get ready for this and he is good enough to win.

SIERRA SUE is a Group 1 winner this track and distance. She was not beaten all that far in the C.F.Orr and from inside gate she should get her chance.

TOFANE got her own way up front in the C.F.Orr and held them all off for soft win in the end. Expect she will go forward and try similar tactics but she is unlikely to get it as easy.

JACQUINOT was sent out favourite here on debut and although he settled a long way off them to the corner he eased wide before powering over them for impressive debut win. He was luckless in the Prelude and getting back out to the 1200m could be the winning move.

SEBONACK is the big query in the race. Team Hawkes would not have him in this race if they did not think he was mature enough or good enough to win. His G3 Chairman’s Stakes win was enormous and if he has progressed he can measure up to these.

REVOLUTIONARY MISS created a big impression when she let down strongly from the back to win the Prelude. That is always a good guide to this race and she is a must for winning chances.

The one at odds could be the Godolphin owned SEVEN SISTERS. She got her maiden out of the way at Geelong two starts back then she caught the eye late in the Prelude. Throw her in exotics.

MARABI is the exciting up and coming sprinter in Victoria. She is unbeaten in all six starts. Stepped up to Group 2 level and put them away at The Valley last start. Drawn perfectly and can win again.

AWAY GAME comes into this ready third-up from spell. Been placed in both runs leading into this and she will not be far away.

OXLEY ROAD just looked in need off the run when he was claimed late in the Rubiton. Fitter from the outing and he gets chance to go on better.

MALKOVICH could be the blowout. Raced on speed but just did not finish race off first-up from spell. He has won two of three second-up and like his chances at big odds.

DESERT ICON gave them a galloping lesson here last start. Jumped to the front and just kept running for easiest of wins. He is the one to beat.

CRIMINAL CODE was working home strongly final stages here last start and grabbed late minor placing. Will get ideal run in behind the speed and should have last crack at leaders.

ZIEGFELD comes into this ready third-up from spell. Not disgraced here last start and would not leave him out of place chances.

DEFIBRILLATE resumes from spell. Patrick Payne starts him off over the 1800m and four trials should have him fit for this. Watch for him late.
