Horse Racing Tips & Previews – Caulfield | Sat 23rd July

Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Saturday’s Caulfield meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 9 races. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Soft 6

Rail Position: Out 6m entire circuit

THRON BONE made it two in a row when fought the race out strongly to win at Flemington last start. Won this track two back and no reason he cannot win again.

TAUT YOU COULD did not have any luck when always wide here first-up and he should have finished closer than he did. Drawn to get ideal run in behind the speed and cannot leave him out.

HAFEY resumes from a spell. Dominant on debut at Bendigo then took on the Blue Diamond before break. Resumes in winnable race here.

Tip: THRON BONE

BOOGIE DANCER looks a smart filly. She relished the heavy ground at Hillside last start and demolished them. Likely to get similar conditions and she can win again.

CREDIBLE ANALYSES was brave in defeat at Geelong on debut. She covered plenty of territory out wide and still held close placing. Drawn to get much better run here.

BLAKMAX won his maiden with something in hand last start. Finds a tougher race coming to town but hard to knock winning form and must consider.

Tip: BOOGIE DANCER

UNUSUAL CULTURE fought the race out strongly here first-up from spell and looked like she would benefit from run. Will make own luck up front and can win this.

SHEZADANDI resumes from spell. She was competitive in some nice races last time in work and recent trial will have her forward enough to run a cheeky race.

AWAPUNI PRINCESS is ready to return to winners stall. Placed in two runs leading into this and watch for her to be running over the top of these.

Tip: UNUSUAL CULTURE

FOREST DIAMOND won three in a row earlier this campaign then she has not been far off in two runs since. Drawn ideally and gets chance to return to winners stall.

SHADOW HAWK battled on well at the one pace at Flemington last start and just missed placing. He will keep coming and may just out stay these.

SING FOR PEACE was impressive getting his maiden out of the way at Wodonga last start. He steps into city class but can not leave stable runners out at the moment.

Tip: FOREST DIAMOND

TEEWATERS caught the eye final stages here first-up from spell when made good late ground. Sure to be better from the outing and extra distance ideal. Happy to put him on top.

NO EFFORT led throughout to win here two starts back then again led last start before being run down final stages. She will control this from the front and takes catching last 200m.

FERAGO is racing in super form. Won three in a row before a couple of solid placings leading into this. Drawn to get the perfect run in transit and expect him to be in finish.

Tip: TEEWATERS

Liked the way PASCERO chased home in Listed company at Flemington last start when just missed placing. Back in right race and he can win this.

KOOLED had the perfect run in behind the speed here last start. Rider stayed back inside and that was winning move as he drove through to win. Should get similar run here.

LLOYD’S CROWN comes into this ready third-up from spell. Placed on the heavy fresh then just out of placings in similar last start. Ready third-up from spell.

Tip: PASCERO

SNAPPED resumes from break. She was dominant winning her first two starts then forget she ran in Group 3 company at The Valley when never out of trouble. She can win this fresh.

CHAIN OF LIGHTNING looks the danger. She is unbeaten in three starts and her win first-up was dominant. Drawn little awkwardly but she will be in mix again.

SISTER VIANNEY resumes from spell. She won last couple of starts before break and recent trial should have her forward enough to challenge these.

Tip: SNAPPED

OXLEY ROAD was sent out favourite first-up in the Sir John Monash but just looked in need of the run when faded final stages. He will be much better from the outing and can win this.

KING OF SPARTA started favourite in the G3 W.J.Healy Stakes in Queensland last start but he just raced keenly and did not finish well enough. Won second-up last prep

MILEVA finished too well and got the prize in the Sir John Monash first-up. She finds similar field and will have improved off that run. Can win again.

Tip: OXLEY ROAD

SIG POSITANO was not beaten all that far here two starts back then he was just a little one paced on the heavy last start. Racing consistently and a win is not far away.

POLANCO had tough run but held on for gutsy placing at Hillside two starts back then he was beaten less than a length last start. He looks ready to find best.

LUCKY DECISION resumes from a spell. He won his maiden by a big space when first-up last time in work so must respect fresh from a spell.

Tip: SIG POSITANO
