Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews today’s Kensington meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 races. Good luck, punters!
Track: Heavy 9
Every race on today’s Kensington card has about 10 live, winning chances. This one has about 5. I’ve settled, after changing my mind twice, on THALASSOPHILE. Her Class 1 Newcastle win on a Heavy 10 track had to be seen to be believed. Yes this is a few lengths harder but when she took off, she looked like a space ship. Just blew by them all winning by 6 lengths. So we learned that day that she can run and that she likes heavy tracks. Was disappointing last start when stepped up to BM 72, which is harder than this and finishing hard for 2nd. Actually, upon examination, it wasn’t a disappointing run. Down in class here on a heavy track. Yeah, she is the one.
This is a fascinating contest. FEEL THE RUSH is probably the best performed runner, well, is the best performed and that shows in the weights. She has to lug 62.5kg around on a very heavy track over 2400m. BUT… she has great wet track stats so that may not be too big an issue. ARABOLINI leads them and SOUND OF CANNONS drops out, both will be disadvantaged by the conditions and Feel The Rush will sit happily between the pair smoking her pipe. He is 4th up in this and looks to be peaking at the right time.
Tip: FEEL THE RUSH
If, like I do, you watch a lot of races, then you probably saw MACH SCHNELL’s first Aussie start last run. He finished 4th this grade but really rattled home. Hope pride trains and this track will suit. STAR SPARKS no doubt leads but I liked the way this bloke knocked down and found the line last start. Trip suits too. Quinella them.
