Horse Racing Tips – Monday 18th April

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews today’s Warwick Farm meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 races. Good luck, punters!

Track: Heavy 8

Hmmm, what do we make of this? James McDonald is the main rider for Chris Waller and if the master trainer has a runner in a race, Jay Mac rides it. Well, he has three in this, all capable and all with a great chance yet James is riding a filly he trialled recently for John O’Shea named TAVI L’AMOUR. Her last race was in November last year when 7th on a good track at Rosehill. Two placings in two recent trials say she is going well but can she win first-up, against the Waller juggernaut? The money overnight and this morning, fiming from $2.80 to $2.35 says she can. MYSTIC MERMAID for the quinella bet.

Tip: TAVI L’ARMOUR

She isn’t as good as they want her to be but she may be good enough to win today. That’s my vibe re 3YO filly MAROONIYAH. She resumed from a spell last start at Newcastle in a maiden on a heavy track and after sitting back in 4th to the bend, came with a strong win to just fail. Extra 200m today now that she is a few lengths fitter appears to be in her favour. But she can race poorly as a few races last prep she turned it up and ran last on each occasion. But wet ground may be her forte. Obviously CELTIC HARP Mis the one to beat and so is the quinella bet.

Tip: MAROONIYAH

The way this former Dubbo horse DEMOCRACY MANIFEST trialled at Rosehill recently for his new trainer, Chris Waller, suggests he will be winning this. He ran 4th but Jay Mac rode him, and he retains the amount today, and he just didn’t want to win the trial. Sat wide yet still made a heap of ground late. Should fly home here.
