Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews today’s Warwick Farm meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 races. Good luck, punters!
Track: Soft 7
I do love a home track advantage and SMOOTH FLIGHT gets that here. He has raced just twice and placed at this level both times. Last start was significant. He was backed as if unbeatable and turning for home, he was in front looking every bit like he would pull off the plunge. It was at Gosford over 1100m, and as he turned and was asked for the supreme effort, he just had trouble picking his feet up. The track was a Heavy 10 that day. He wound up 3rd, beaten less than a length by a horse who was a city place getter prior. So on a dry track, his track, he can lead all the way today. DESTINY’S BOUNTY resumes here but has finishing talent so again looks set to be in the money and is the quinella bet.
Tip: SMOOTH FLIGHT
Interesting race. I do find it very hard to go past SUR LA MER despite the big weight rise. She took on this grade in the wet last start and just unleashed a really, really impressive sprint once they turned for home. She went so fast, she sailed past the leaders with ease and won ears pricked and eased down by over 3 lengths. This isn’t a heavy track today but it’s still damp and she won with such authority that to me, it suggested she was back in career-best form. Is 3rd up here and looks the winner.
Tip: SUR LA MER
Again, home track advantage is swaying me here. So I’m on TRAVEST. His form has been in and out at BM 78 level, but when he gets a crack at Bm 72, like this is, he goes very close. Is fit and ready and the 2kg claim helps a great deal. BRIMSTONE is going well. Good quinella bet.
