If he gets a clear crack at them in the straight this is your dark horse. He is very good and is flying at present. Came from 9th on the turn to fail by a nose behind Soxagon last start over 1300m. Drops 3.5kg here and prefers this trip. Gate is the issue though because he will have to go right back. But can dash late.
Another honest hard finishing star who must be considered. Came from behind Alligator Blood to nose him out last start over 1300m. Also drops 3.5kg and loves this journey.
Is capable, is local and can handle the trip. Out-pointed Apache Chase over 1300m when resuming in the Archer (WFA) then just did not run on last start when beaten 2 lengths by Soxagon and Alligator Blood. That inconsistency is a worry but has drawn beautifully and can win. Fitter now.

Loves a dry track but what a pity he has drawn so wide. May have to use a fair bit of gas to get across and sit outside Apache Chase here. Last start was enormous. Came hard late to just miss catching Apache Chase at level weights over 1300m. Meets him a kilo better.
T: Team Snowden / J: Sam Clipperton (54.5kg)
Is smart and has trialled really well recently but race day of late he hasn’t done well. Is capable but look past him.
T: Mick Price & Michael Kent /J: Jamie Kah (54kg)
Be very wary of this bloke. He is extremely smart and loves this journey. Failed to handle the heavy when a plodding and fading 8th to Zaaki over 1800m last start. Has been freshened and should be dashing home late. Looks well in at the weights.
T: Team Hawkes/ J: Jason Collett (54kg)
Is a Gr 2 horse at best and this will test him late.
T: Steve Tregea /J: Anthony Allen (53.5kg)
Is racing well but in and out. Loves these big races this time of year and was 3rd beaten a head by Soxagon 2 starts back. Will be on pace but may struggle late.
T: Michael Moroney /J: Rachel King (53.5kg)
Extra smart front-runner who will go with Apache Chase and ensure a really solid tempo. Loves this trip and won’t know himself with this small weight. Will paddle final 75m though at this level.
T: Tony Gollen / J: Willy Pike (52.5kg)
Stable is on fire and she is very smart. Latest form doesn’t look flash but it isn’t bad. Ran 9th, but beaten 2.5 lengths by Apache Chase at Gr 1 level last start. Drops 4.5kg here and is racing like this trip will suit. Have her at big odds in your numbers.
T: Jason warren & Dean Krongold / J: Craig Williams (52kg)
Interesting galloper. Is capable of flashing home in this. On her past two starts when 6th both times, in the Gr 1 Sangster and the Gr 1 Kingsford-Smith, she should be strongly considered. Made enormous ground late both times. Now, she will be a long way back to the turn by carries 5kg less here this time and will finish like a rocket.
T: James Cummings / J: Steph Thornton (50.5kg)
Very strong young sprinter who can sit just off speed or be on pace. Carried 57kg to win here this trip in weaker race last start but ran time and drew gate 9. Drops 6.5kg here. Will the occasion overawe him, we will see but he is very smart.
T: Rob Heathcote / J: Taylor Marshall (50kg)
Classy filly who gets back and always runs on. Loves the trip and while a win would surprise, a strong effort to grab a place wouldn’t.
T: Steven O’Dea & Matt Hoysted / J: Boris Thornton (54kg)
Is smart and very honest. Has a great record at this track and has won this trip. Besten 2 lengths when close up 7th to Apache Chase last start and drops 5kg.
T: Chris Waller / J: Jay Ford (50.5kg)
Has a lot of talent. And is weighted beautifully. May not get a start but will be thereabouts if he does.
T: Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou / J: – (50.5kg)
Is tough and bobs up a lot but in weaker races. Not keen.
T: Chris Waller/ J: – (51.5kg)
Good tough galloper likes to run on. Probably doesn’t get a run and this does look tough.
T: Team McEvoy /J: Barend Vorster (51.5kg)
At the weights is a real chance as he is honest and loves this trip. Was the biggest run on the race when 4th in the Gr 1 Goodwood last start at 1200m. Place.
