Horse Racing Tips – Group 1 Rosehill Guineas

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at every runner in Saturday’s Group 1  Rosehill Rosehill Guineas with horse racing tips for the first four. Read on to see how he maps on this very heavy track and assesses the race. Good luck, punters!

1. ANAMOE (9) 1x1212x312

T: James Cummings /J: James McDonald (56.5kg)

Champion 3YO colt who loves this journey and should win this.

2. CONVERGE (8) 1321x8x331

T: Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott / J: Tim Clark (56.5kg)

Brilliant 3YO. Superbly ridden last start and came home like a bullet to claim the Gr 1 Randwick Guineas over a mile last start. Gives the impression this trip will suit too and did beat Anamoe in winning last start.

3. PROFONDO  (6) 121×0

T: Richard Litt/ J: Hugh Bowman (56.5kg)

Smart colt who is already a Gr 1 winner and it was at this journey in quick time. Stepped out in Melbourne for the first time last start, first time on a wet track too and just did not look comfortable being wide all the way. Can and should improve a lot.

4. FORGOT YOU (4) x311615x44

T: Trent Busuttin & Nat Young / J: Mark Zahra  (56.5kg)

Very smart Victorian who should strip super fit here. Rallied late when a close-up 4th in the Gr 1 Australian Guineas over a mile last start behind Hitotsu beating Profondo home. Better placed this journey.

5. RAGING BULL (5) 33x5164x86

T: David Payne/ J: Sam Clipperton (56.5kg)

More than handy stayer in the making and is 3rd up here on home track. That helps but has always had trouble with Anamoe.

6. SWORD POINT (7) 4×741214

T: Chris Waller / J: Nash Rawiller (56.5kg)

Interesting galloper. Likes it wet and has won at this trip. Plugged on gamely last start when 4th in a handicap over 1550m. Likes this trip more but class will test.

7. SINBA (1) 134×118

T: Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou / J: Jason Collett (56.5kg)

Came hard to win a handicap over 1550m, then up to silk drawer and was easily handled by Converge and Anamoe. Expect the same here.

8. THREE WISE MEN (3) 2739x17x88

T: Ed Cummings / J: Tom Sherry (56.5kg)

Wouldn’t’t win this with a head start.

9. MEDIARO (2) 214

T: Matt Smith / J: Jay Ford (56.5kg)

Improving type with three runs under his belt now, all in much weaker class but they were solid. This is still too hard.
