T: Danny O’Brien /J: Damian Lane (56.5kg)
So honest and already worth a fortune having won at Gr 2 level then last start was Gr 1 placed behind the brilliant Fireburn. Will again be around the minor place money.
T: Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou/ J: Kerrin McEvoy (56.5kg)
Brilliant miler. Won the Gr 3 Baillieu over 1400m in the mud then carried 59kg and easily won the 1600m Fernhill here last week. Again on a very heavy track. Quick back-up but is very strong and will run a bottler.
T:Ciaron Maher & Dave Eustace / J: John Allen (56.5kg)
Quality colt who after a close-up 8th in the Gr 1 Blue Diamond, ran 5th, beaten 8 lengths by Fireburn last start in the Gr 1 Sires’ over 1400m. Should find this tough.
T: Damien Lane / J: Josh Parr (56.5kg)
Maiden galloper who wouldn’t win with a head start.
T: Gary Portelli / J: Brenton Avdulla (54.5kg)
Champion 2YO of her era and is just better than her rivals. Likes it wet and after easy Gr 1 Golden Slipper win, bolted in, easing down in the Gr 1 Sires’ over 1400m. Should win this with her head on her chest.
T: Anthony Cummings/ J: Tommy Berry (54.5kg)
Interesting galloper. Is very talented but has been handled by Fireburn at all three meetings, most recently when on better part of track but still run down by the champ who was on worst part of the track. Is trained here so will run a prominent race.
