T: Chris Waller / J: Jason Collett (59kg)
Can run against this lot and will strip immeasurably fitter for his tough first-up Gr 1 failure. Goes well this trip and should be on speed all the way. May surprise.
T: Joe Pride / J: Regan Bayliss (59kg)
Loves the mud and is a bonafide Gr 1 galloper having won the Epsom last year. Can sprint well fresh and looks perfectly placed.
T: Leon McDonald & Andrew Gluyas/ J: Chad Scofield (59kg)
He isn’t great first-up but his best form would be winning this. Has run cracker races in the past and the trip suits. Another knock out hope.
T: Kris Lees / J: Glyn Schofield (59kg)
Is racing lights out at present. After a really impressive open grade win, he stepped up to Gr 1 level and ran home hard to grab 3rd. Likes the mud and is in career best form. Has claims.
T: Team Hawkes / J: Willy Pike (59kg)
Interesting galloper. Is very fit now being 3rd up and when he has his sights in he can run. Both starts this time up have been handy efforts although was well beaten by rival Lighthouse last start. Respect the fitness and the fact he likes the mud.
T: Nick Ryan / J: Rhys McLeod (59kg)
Was well up to this level and in fact was Gr 1 placed last campaign before losing all form. Market is best guide.
T: Annabel Neasham / J: Tommy Berry (58.5kg)
Is the horse to beat. Won a Gr 1 in France over this trip and his two Aussie runs have been outstanding lead-ups to this. Gets back but can finish and has three times won in the wet.
T: Team Freedman / J: Hugh Bowman (57kg)
Is absolutely lethal in the mud. Has always raced extremely well at this track and last start here over 1400m, bolted in winning a Gr 2. Must be considered.
T: Ciaran Maher & David Eustace/ J: James McDonald (57kg)
This is such a strong and consistent mare. Is nearly unbeatable in the wet and is racing in career best form. Ran home so strongly when 2nd to Tofane at Gr 1 level last start. Super fit, top rider in Jay Mac on board and is ready to win.
