T: Annabel Neasham /J: Tommy Berry (59kg)
So honest and such a quality galloper. He was very strong when 2nd first-up in a very similar race, Loves this track and trip. Will get back but because of the high pressure early he will find a rhythm and should be flashing home.
T: Jamie Cummings / J: James McDonald (59kg)
Grand old stager always a threat this grade. Suited at the set weights scale. Likes the trip and will be running on. Was 5th in All Star Mile, then not far away 9th in Gr 1 Doncaster.
T: Chris Waller/ J: Sam Clipperton (59kg)
Not racing well enough. On his day he can win, but three runs this time up have been only average and not keen.
T: Matt Ellerton/ J: Damian Lane (59kg)
On weights and measures this is the one to beat. And he will be at big odds. Been getting a long way back but his 6th behind Nature Strip last start was a solid effort. He can dash hard late.
T: Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou / J: Nash Rawiller (59kg)
Comes into this with a great chance. Led and fought on gamely in a strong Gr 1 Doncaster Mile. Lots of pace also here so he probably sits just behind In The Congo and he is a very good 1400m galloper. Has claims.
T: Annabel Neasham/ J: Rachel King (59kg)
Interesting galloper. Not been the big star we thought when he came here from overseas but he does have talent. Good 3rd this grade before getting blown away in the Gr 1 Doncaster last start. Better suited at this trip.
T: Annabel Neasham / J: Willy Pike (59kg)
Handy on his day but not at WFA against these. He likes to lead and so do 4 others.
T: Michael Freedman / J: Hugh Bowman (57kg)
After winning three in a row, two at this level on wet tracks, she hit the front at the 200m in the Gr 1 Doncaster and after a short tussle yielded only in the final 100m. Shorter trip here, and on a wet track. Yeah, big show.
T: Michael Moroney/ J: Mark Zahra (57kg)
Star galloper who has won a few at Gr 1 level and all have been at this trip. Freshened since solid 8th in the All Star Mile and will make her presence felt here.
T: Trent Busuttin & Nat Young/ J: John Allen (57kg)
Very strong, solid galloper with Gr 1 wins under her belt. So suited to this on every level. Is 4th up, ran a good 7th last start in the All Star Mile and is better placed here. Will love the wet track and will adore the trip and the early speed which will happen with the number of fast galloper. Looks the one.
T: Matt Smith /J: Damien Oliver (57kg)
Is in her zone. Raced away in the mud last start, last week in fact, to win a Gr 1 against mares over 1500m. Again, likes to be on speed and may have to hand up early but is strong and very fit.
T: Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott / J: Brenton Avdulla (57kg)
Is back on track and rates highly. Led all way and just raced away to win the Gr 2 Sunline over a mile. This is harder but is a Gr 1 winner and looms large. Also, this is her home track.
T: Chris Waller / J: Kerrin McEvoy (57kg)
Star galloper who probably is the likely winner had she been able to race of late. But hates wet tracks. Is still capable of running a blinder.
T: Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott / J: Tim Clark (56.5kg)
Very fast and will lead these. Is 3rd up on home track too and goes well this journey. Backing up from game 2nd last week against own age. Likes the mud a great deal.
T: Bjorn Baker/ J: Josh Parr (56.5kg)
Another speedy type who will press forward. Will be one of the ones ensuring a very fast pace early in this. May be coming to the end of his prep but on his day can be right in there.
T: Danny Williams / J: Robbie Dolan (59kg)
Cult here, who, after winning Gr 1 The Galaxy over 1100m in the mud, he backed up and ran on fairly when 7th to Nature Strip in the TJ Smith over 1200m. Significant to note, he got weary the last 25m. At WFA here he may be tested this trip.
T: Team Hawkes / J: Willy Pike? (56.5kg)
Is a stakes winner but probably doesn’t get a run and if he does, he goes forward early joining all the mad speed. Might find this tough late.
