Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews the race meeting this afternoon at Canterbury, with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 selected races. Good luck, punters!
Interesting race here. Can’t really tip with any great confidence given the track is a quagmire but I do think there exists talent in this filly MAGIC CARPET. She’s had 3 starts to date and is yet to run a place which doesn’t suggest there is much there, but I believe she might be a late bloomer. Is dual accepted for tomorrow also but if she runs here instead I think she sits up on speed, and kicks past them late. BLACK TAHITIAN is probably the leader around the bend. Quinella them up.
Tip: MAGIC CARPET @ $8.00
Here’s a fascinating race. Lots of form around each other to compare and dissect. I’ve landed on SIXGUN because he should be super fit now and his form has been while fresh with his rivals. On top of that he comes into this sprint final better placed at the weights too. He is 4th up tonight and has shown up on wet tracks in the past also. MISS JAY FOX beat him last start so is in form and should provide the quinella. I suspect Sixgun sits up in the one, one from the get-go and is too strong late.
Tip: SIXGUN @ $4.00
I don’t think I’ve ever done this before but tonight I will. I’m backing a horse on a quagmire who is 2nd up from a spell after being thrashed when resuming, is stepping up to 1900m and has drawn the car park. But the track and the draw may very well suit him. His name is BENAUD, and considering the man he was named after would have celebrated his birthday this week had he been still alive, it all sounds like tonight’s the night for making whoopy.
Tip: BENAUD @ $6.50
