Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews the race meeting this afternoon at Goulburn with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 selected races. Good luck, punters!
Interesting race here. I think if you can find even money or better about RED HOT then you should take that. She looks about the best placed runner all day. Perfectly drawn to park in 3rd with cover to the bend. Has Kathy O’Hara to ride and her form is considerably better than the others. I really can’t see her getting beaten unless horrid luck kicks in. Doesn’t mind it wet either. Last start she was beaten less than 2 lengths in a BM 72 at Randwick. Probably quinella her with ART ACADEMY for 2nd, or perhaps an Exacta is a better play this time.
Tip: RED HOT
Here’s a fun race. I do think there is really on three chances and they have met before. CIRCLING, who carried 3.5kg less than GENJIRO when he beat him home by 6 lengths meet again. This time there is only 1.5kg between them. BASTIDA is the other one. He’s still a maiden by is trained by John Sargent who is a dab hand at getting horses to stay and he finished in front of Circling the last time they met. They should break away but I tend to think Bastida is the one on the rise. That gives him the bob. They do look the quinella.
Hard to believe that 15 accepted and 8 scratched the morning of the race. But still, we can wager each way. I like the oddly named SPATS PAV BOWIE. He missed a place when resuming but to be fair, he was only 2 lengths away and it was about 3 lengths stronger than this event. Presumably he’s fitter for this assignment, comes into a nice gate after the scratchings and previous campaign he showed ability. Can salute from the top weight CALGARY KING. Respect all that.
