Horse Racing Tips – Friday 18th February

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews the race meeting this afternoon at Canterbury, with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 selected races. Good luck, punters!

Interesting race here. Money has come in for HIMALAISM and while I think he will run very well, I like PSYCHIATRIST who resumes here. He was thrashed on debut in a better race, was then put away, but if his recent trial is anything to go off, he has improved 15 lengths. Toyed with his rivals. I suspect some astute punters will not let him get under their guard so maybe best to back him early in the day as his price should shrink.  Quinella them up.

Tip: PSYCHIATRIST  @ $4.10

Here’s a fascinating race. If MR GEE runs up to his best, and that would mean at just his 2nd start back from a spell he is fit enough under this massive weight, he can win this. He is the only horse in the field to have won at this BM level twice. And his first-up 7th in an unsuitable race was solid enough. I see him settling about 5th, in contact with them and when they all jam up as they turn, he can sweep past them. JUNGLE BOOK is all competitive this grade and was unlucky when 4th this level last run. Watch market. Quinella them also.

Tip: MR GEE @ $3.00

This is one of those races you look forward to. An impressive last start winner, who is racing in great heart and on a relatively quick back-up. Yeah, that’ll do me. STORMBORN goes up just 2kg for her ultra impressive on speed win in probably a slightly tougher field last start and being fast and fit she can jump from this gate and pretty much be in that place again tonight. Really like her.

Tip: STORMBORN @ $2.50
