Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews the Canterbury meetings this afternoon, with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 selected races. Good luck, punters!
Interesting race here. If Hugh Bowman can get ATON OF DELIGHT to sit a pair of two closer than usual we may just see a racehorse here. I suspect this bloke has talent and will finish hard here now that he is 2nd up. Only raced twice in his life and both times he went to the line. Will be given every chance to shine his best here. SPITFIRE is honest and can run a place. Quinella them.
Here’s a fascinating race. I must say though, I’ll be very surprised if last start failure SPELLCATCHER doesn’t land the chocolates here. I know he goes up 6kg from his 3rd place last start when many punters were burnt, but he needed the run and he met with bother. The tsunami of money for CALIFORNIA SURREAL doesn’t phase me. I think Spellcatcher settles back about 6th then just finds a lane in the stretch and charges home over the top of them. Watch market.
Tip: SPELLCATCHER @ $3.40
I think there is one here I’m going to wager heavily upon. His name is NIKOHLI BEAGLE. This fairly lightly raced 5YO has so much talent. He just gets to the outside winds up and charges. Did that when resuming in a BM 72 at Kensington and won. Then stepped up to Saturday grade, did the same thing and ran 5th, Third up here and gets an extra 150m to deal with. Those two salient facts alone make him a rather compelling bet. Big, big show. Perhaps last start all-the-way winner BERGEN is fresh enough to lead and keep fighting into 2nd spot.
